** GIBBO TAKES A 980 G1 FOR A RIDE AND OcUK HAS EXCLUSIVE ON 980 G1 **

I would only get an Asus card from OCUK. Their customer service is awful, terrible attitude and expect long turnover times. They really are not good with non-USA territories. Nevertheless, OCUK will deal with the warranty and help speed it all up, I hope!

Yes Asus give us fantastic warranty support, so simply RMA Asus with OcUK and you have no issue. :)

You'll have no problems, I returned an Asus card twice to OCUK with fan issues and was given a Sapphire as the second replacement at my request. Fantastic service and so very very glad I didn't have to deal with Asus - once you start reading the support stories on other forums...! I'll never buy another Asus card when there are other options for this very reason ;)

I have 2 strix 970s in the R4 with the 2 stock fractal 140mm fans in the front, one 140mm spectre pro in the bottom as intake and one more 140mm spectre pro as exhaust in the back. No issues with temps whatsoever. Coolest and quietest my case has ever been.

You'll have no problems in the R4 (well dependant on your mobo spacing). I've got an R4 and run AMD cards, I was mining in the summer with 7970's (hotter cards) OC'd and sat at <85 degrees for a few days (when ambient was >35). But I do have great airflow and no CPU temps to deal with (AIO). ;)

Gibbo, what would you say is the best 970 is terms of build quality?

None of them are bad.

Gigabyte G1 has the best PCB and power design by miles, cooler is OK but I'd say the Asus Strix cooler is the highest quality even though the Gigabyte has more cooling power.

Hoping my 970 Ultra X4 will be here soon as this is the one which could actually beat them all as its a piece of art though its insanely big, but it is called the "AIR BOSS" :D

Encouraging results there Gibbo.

I think I'll stick with my GTX 780 until the release of the next generation.

Until we see a single gpu card that can comfortably beast everything @ 4k res with ultra settings I don't really see the point in upgrading.

Each to their own though :)

I can say performance 980 beast 4k bf4 ultra no AA 60fps ultra 4x AA 38-44fps when I have gsync will be nice!

Hi, Gibbo
Are there any reviews for the inno3d yet.

Risky over reference imo a few more weeks and reference will be £399.99. G1 is nice and all but reference is still on the heels of that card and we still havent been shown the card that actually gets 1fps more than the 780Ti at a higher res.

Maybe if Gibbo does an OCUK reference at £400 i might just shut up and finally buy something. :D

Reference is now EOL they will only be getting more expensive if they become hard to source, so more likely to be £449 than £399 to be honest.

You will not see much of a price drop this side of Christmas unless the market for 970/980 hits saturation point, but that could happen quiet soon the way they are selling so fast.
