Gigabyte DS3/DS4/DQ6 Guide

Great thanks - though I think 1.8GHz to 3.06GHz is not bad. At least an upgrade to a new P45 mobo should be cheaper than a new Q6600 or 4870 GPU. I primarily play the game Armed Assault and the FPS increases as the CPU is clocked from 1.8GHz to 3GHz so I believe it is bottlenecking the GPU.

I have a GA-MA790FX-DQ6 and a Phenom 9950

I can only get it to post if memory slots 1 and 3 are left empty

Anyone come across this problem or know whether it is cpu or mobo related?

Cheers

The lowest voltage setting for the memory seems to be 1.85v
On the memory it says 1.80v

Just thought it add that it will post with memory slots 1 and 3 being used, if i use my 5600+ cpu

I have an P45 mobo, and just wanting a bit of advice on updating the Bios. I have downloaded the package and do I unpack it onto a floppy or usb stick and just go into the bios and flash it from there as I am thinking that going through windows with the flash utility is not much of a good idea???

Cheers

I've got a GA-P35C-DS3R, and I was wondering if this OCZ ram is compatible? I'm currently running 2GB (2x1GB) GeIL 800mhz C4 ULL and would like some extra RAM but on a budget! Anyone using this combination at all?

I don't mind loosening the timings a little either.

I have still got the GA-965P-DS3P (rev. 3.3) but my ide dvdrom and dvd writer need replacing. I have just ordered a liteon and pioneer sata drives.
Now I have 2 Wd drives running in raid on the Intel chipset do I also put the new dvd drives on these channels? in bios it states raid.
