Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87

I know what you mean, as my colours are blue and black, but the only green I can see through my case window is the leds round the sound section and Im pretty sure you can turn it off in the bios.
Most of it is covered by my heatsink and GPU tbh.

I really liked the look of this board but after reading this thread I am too afraid to buy one now :(

Stoner81.

I'm the same,a bit dubious about buying one,but OcUK has a great rma service, as does Gigabyte, which is reassuring if there is any problems.

Hopefully the problem is only bios related & a new version will finally solve the issues some are having with this board.

Not uncommon for popular hardware to have a few issues, this is an extremely popular product, many people have it with no issues at all. I say buy it, if it doesnt work, RMA it, Gigabyte have UK RMA and OCUK CS is unbeatable.

Ocuk rma for me has been nothing short of terrible and hence i have purchased further goods else where, been waiting since mid december for this to be resolved and still no rma has been created.

Gigabyte them selves contacted me on this forum and looked into everything and said if ocuk did not rma the board then they would for me, and this is my only option as ocuk have been nothing short of poor when it has come to getting the board rmad.

Mines up and running flawlessly, Win 8, hate the OS but love the mobo features, although im still trying to figure how to turn off the green, it looks like a bloody disco inside the case, Green LED, Blue LED on Kuhler, Orange LED on mobo, Red LED for Bios Code etc.

One of the best boards I've had!

Any tips of tweaks for this board?

Or 8 packs quick guide is
The best way to do this is aim for 4.4 - 4.5 first.
Go 44 multi
Vcore 1.25
Cache 1.15
LLC top available.
DDR at XMP
DDR volts 1.65v
SA 1.15 or + 0.15 offset
IOD 1.15 or + 0.2 offset
IOA 1.15 or + 0.2 offset

test..... use as you would normally no silicon torture nonsense.

Then go up to 46 multi and test maybe adding a touch of Vcore top Vcore being around 1.3v

Next work on Uncore ratio. Try 42 first then 43 etc etc using Cache Volts to stabalise.

Do you feel lucky being the last one atomic? lol
Yeah it is a nightmare changing out a motherboard, atleast it should all be sorted soon though :)

:D its always me lol no matter what i get there will always be a fault or incompatibility somewhere along the line, whether it be computers or other stuff, it never just works lol
