**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

Its a no-brainer for me my friend. 480 SOC will have a higher quality chip, more memory and a better cooler for less money....

My last post may have been premature, are you seriously saying that a GTX 480 can ever be considered better than a GTX 570? Just can't see it personally, regardless of slightly better frame rates, the temperature increase just isn't worth it.

Depends if you pay the electric bill or not. I would like to be proved wrong, but according to this, the 480 SOC would be using at least 100w more than a OC 570 on load.

Which graph are you reading?

There is no temperature increase, the early 480's were leaky so they sucked more power and got hotter. The later 480's are much less leaky and run cooler and suck less power as the manufacturing process has matured. My Asus 480 on its stock cooler barely broke 80c at stock settings, so when you compare that to the early reviews the difference was vast. The chip design was fine, it was the chip manufacturing process that caused all the problems for the first 6 months or so, but that is fixed now.

The 400 series leakage/power/heat stats is quite varied as well - theres an almost 10C difference between my 2 cards in SLI and the top card which is usually the warmer is actually the cooler running card theres that much difference.

Gibbo truely is back :p Nice to see you bringing all the deals mate :)

First deal that really has tempted me to replace my 5870...that SOC version and that cooler make these deals unmissable really especially for the price/performance...great stuff! Some people will be getting some awesome deals :D

Has anyone got any benchmark links of the 480 SOC against a stock 580 please?

(I know they are not price comparible, just looking forward to BF3 having seen the 580 demo videos) :)
