Its a no-brainer for me my friend. 480 SOC will have a higher quality chip, more memory and a better cooler for less money....

Depends if you pay the electric bill or not. I would like to be proved wrong, but according to this, the 480 SOC would be using at least 100w more than a OC 570 on load.

My last post may have been premature, are you seriously saying that a GTX 480 can ever be considered better than a GTX 570? Just can't see it personally, regardless of slightly better frame rates, the temperature increase just isn't worth it.
Which graph are you reading?
Has anyone got any benchmark links of the 480 SOC against a stock 580 please?
(I know they are not price comparible, just looking forward to BF3 having seen the 580 demo videos)
The SOC comes at 820 core, that's a few FPS shy of 580 performance.

Is there any chance of overclockers having my 3 week old asus 480 back, so that I may pay the extra for the Soc??

convinced me to get one.... ( and the fact that the RMA is UK based .... about 7 miles from my house... lol ).
How long is the SOC card?
