Giganet FTTP

Giganet have had some pretty shocking reviews on this forum, sometimes it's worth paying a little extra for the features you want and for better server.
The service itself is fine, it's the CS which is non-existent...there's a school of thought which says that CS for an FTTP connection isn't really required post-install, but YMMV of course

Thanks for your help Chris, can you point me to any thread where they talk about those issues? Cheers
Giganet barely rate above Virgin for me.

They were unresponsive, uninterested and generally poor in the way in which they managed my service.

After having had months of issues getting my line installed with Giganet and CF, they just shrugged their shoulders and cancelled my order.

Rang no one, and within 2 weeks I was up and running.

October - April with Giganet waiting
April I rang no one and was sorted a couple of weeks later.

Oh and cherry on top - they gave me 3 months free because I’d had so many issues with city fibre, but that was a one off. Always worth just asking if they’d match the offer with Giganet :)

I am planning on joining gigante but they don't have the static IP address available yet. Did you hear anything from them? They told me in April it was meant to be available from may ...cheers
not heard anything from them but i dont need static so i have not chased it up.

This is another option, but does not have the 3 months free that giganet offers...
the 3 months are now at the end of 12 months rather than at the start- they have changed it after i signed up, so be careful.

yazzi are offering £34 pm with 1 month free, 12 month contract if you DM them:

Yazzi have poor reviews on Google and Trustpilot. Better tp pay a bit more and receive a solid service.

dont all ISP have negative feedback? survivorship bias with only having negative experience complaining.
What about Vodafone?? They seem to offer static IP address out the box and £35 for 500mbps up/down is not a bad deal. Opinions?
if you do go for vodafone, go through topcasback compare site You will get (not guaranteed) cashback and gifcard working out at £28pm. They are 24 months contracts with price rises in April so be careful as they base the price rises on original price.

TalkTalk are offering £36pm 1gig up and down so consider them as well (also with cashback using topcashback)

Thanks, only issue with talktalk is not 1gig down only 100mbps, it is not simetric.....will probably end up with Vodafone.....it's the east choice....they only issue is the CPI increase and the 24 months contract....

If TalkTalk do both CityFibre and OpenReach, they may false show the OR figures. You will of course have the option.

If it's OR, it'll be 900/100 at most, if it's CF it'll be 900/900 at most.

CF don't provide a 900/100 profile, so as I said, it's an error on the TT systems.
You are right, just digged a bit and found users who reported a 900 upload speeds. It's a shame, few weeks ago there was an awesome deal at topcashback bringing the total cost of 900 connection to 24£ per month.....had I known it was symmetric......argg
Does anyone know if talk talk provide static IP address or in the worse case scenario a dynamic public IP address?? Cheers

Been with Giganet 6 months now, like others have said the CS is very hit and miss, but so far the connection has been rock solid and getting above advertised speeds 940meg on speed tests and very low latency 5 - 6ms
I already had city fibre when I switched to them and they still sent out engineers to my property to install it
