Gin recommendations?

Norfolk Gin - is it any good ?

folks were given a complimentary bottle by a company they do business with, for xmas, but are not usually gin drinkers.
should we just make sloe gin from it ? other options ?

There seem to be limited web reviews of the multitude of small gin companies,
its mentioned here https://www.norfolkmag.co.uk/home/3-norfolk-gin-producers-that-are-making-waves-1-5008285

edit : if you get a gratis bottle of rum or brandy at least you can use it in cakes and cooking.

Just ordered a bottle of the Blue Bottle per @Feek's recommendation as a Christmas present, I'm expecting good things!

You shouldn't be disappointed.

Where did you order it from (if you don't mind me asking)? I might need a couple of bottles for presents. I usually just "export" it personally from duty free :D, but that's not happening this year!

Bought it on Amazon at about 43 quid I think. Was doing an order anyway so bundled it, but had I just been buying just that I probably would have bought from masters of malt as it's about the same price.

What did you do with this in the end? I sell this so interested in how it went down as I'm not a big gin person.

My take on gin at the mo is that most collectors have a bottle of everything so don't need more and people who drink a lot of it go back to their affordable favourites. All the small / special ones are £30 plus and it also is something that sells on looks rather than taste for the first bottle and often the latter can be lacking so a second / ongoing purchase doesn't happen.

@Cleisthenes I hope you enjoy it, I still rate it right up there. It wasn't available on Amazon for a while so it's good to see it available there again, albeit expensive.

I'm also still a big fan of Berliner Brandstifter, I'm sure I've posted about it in this thread but I think it's a proper, good, grown up gin.

I was bought a bottle of No.3 for my birthday and that's also excellent, another real ginny gin.

I tend to find pink gin a bit too sweet, although since that's 44% it should cut a bit of the sweetness.
That was my concern but although it has a proper grapefruit flavour, it's not overly sweet at all.

I've got an unopened bottle of navy strength Plymouth gin so will pick up some angostura bitters and make my own Pink Gin (the cocktail version).
