Glastonbury & the BBC.

Its pretty much his live set for a long time now shuffled around a bit its a fair bit of Wings/McCartney rather than just older Beatles stuff which people are probably expecting/more familar with.
People have to remember that the Beatles are a really small portion of his career. He left the Beatles over 50 years ago, so that's over 50 years of music he's made post-Beatles compared to only 10 years in the band (and they didn't release an album for the first three years).

Is it just me, or has the sound of the singers been really poor and very low? I’m just watching standard BBC, but many artists I can barely hear the lyrics.
It's pretty bad in general, 2019 I watched back some BBC recording of sets I attended and the sound just doesn't do it justice at all. Two Door Cinema Club sounded phenomenal (probably the best they've sounded since 2011) but they on TV it was like I was watching a different gig, all the energy sapped out of it.

I think it's something to do with the way it's recorded, it's almost like it's 'too professional / studio like' in terms of setup, so everything gets normalised or whatever rather than sounding raw and natural.

I'm going to watch a couple of the performances I missed over the weekend. It was hard to fit them all in! Definitely going to watch Elbow and probably a couple that have been recommended in this thread.

Biased because I'm from Nottingham but Sleaford mods were great. An acquired taste but even if you don't like it its worth seeing the fella on the laptop doing the same dance for an hour straight

Yea it does matter, i'd only go to download for example if the line up on a certain year was to my taste ect. Each to their own.

See I find that really strange. I'd go to Download even if the lineup was terrible as long as the same like minded people still went. It's about the overall experience, the atmosphere, the people. The bands are a plus but you'd enjoy them more in an arena where the acoustics aren't ruined by the wind etc.

I don’t think its strange at all. a lot of people go based on what the line up is.

Its mostly just a massive meeting of the druggies and dealers from every corner of the UK.

Got back last night ( my fifth ) took my 13 year old 10 year old and my mum (along with my usual crew of friends) and it was as brillaint as always.

So much stuff to do and see away from the stages although I did see quite a lot this year.

Top top place, youve got to be one miserable FULLY STAR OUT ALL SWEARIES to go there and not enjoy yourself.

Im actualy encouraged there are still views like this as it means a better chance of a ticket for us!

You pay for Glasto tickets before any of the lineup is announced.

Sometimes you get lucky, other times it's not so good, but you could go for 5 days, not see any main stages and still have a great time.

That was my 13th and I would go again. Walked 68 miles in 5 days according to Samsung health.
