Glastonbury & the BBC.

Hilarious really, given the utterly enormous amount of plastic bottles and crates and camping paraphernalia which is left dumped on the ground at the end of the festival. Then the hypocrisy of it all is that some of those who brought all that plastic and then left it lying there , will be on tv on some protest march about plastic pollution in the world.
Bore off, it's an amazing cultural event that is trying to minimize its impact whilst still happening. Low IQ climate deniers are the worst.

It feels like Glastonbury, alongside other events attended by similar groups, has now become "an event" to be attended just for SM clicks and likes rather than something attended by "fans" who want to be there for the music. Goodwood Festival of Speed felt the same last time I was there, very few "fans" but lots of people there for the selfies instead, and when the fans either stop going or can't go, even though the event is filled it just feels soulless instead.

Anyway, thats me off the soap box now :D

Get a grip. Nowhere did I slate Glastonbury, I slated some of the hypocrites who go there, grow up and get some reading comprehension

Caribou was pretty ace....but again, seen him a lot before. Watching a bit of Billie Eilish now, never heard her before, incredibly underwhelming, not really a headline act imo.

Is the Beeb coverage miles behind when this stuff actually happened regardless of it claiming to be “live”? The Guardian have live reporting and that site is saying McCartney started an hour ago but it only started about 10:30 on BBC.

I'm not so sure. Sure the first couple I went to were like that because of the novelty and "ZOMG GLASTO BABY!" but I don't think I put anything on social media the last few I went to. I guess what I'm saying is you will get the first-timers, maybe second timers flexing on SM. Then sure you'll get the career 'grammers who'd be putting pictures of their lunch up if they weren't at Glastonbury anyway. But just general Joe Public that has been around the block9 a few times, I don't think are doing that, and there's a lot of seasoned vets at Glastonbury, perhaps more so than most festivals.
You also have to factor in that there is a third group, who are not fans there for the music, but aren't there for selfies either. Just people there to have a good time, 5 days of hedonism and if they happen to catch a few sets whilst they are there all the better.

Anyway back on topic, BBC coverage seems better than usual this year, decent choice of stages on iPlayer.

I've only watched half of Foals set so far but wow, they really came out HARD in terms of setlist, seriously front-loaded with 5 bangers up top.

Classic clash that is, Jamie T has quite a cult following amongst Glastonbury frequenters and I can imagine a headline set at JPT having incredible atmosphere. But if I was there I don't think I could not see Paul McCartney just because of how legendary he is, a Pyramid show from him isn't going to come around very often if ever again whereas I could get myself to a Jamie T gig no problem.

Enjoyed the McCartney set, nice surprises at the end as well.

Were they booing Springsteen? Couldn't make out if it was booing or cheering

Everybody knows the big artists are devil-worshippers, Bille Ellish and Miley Cyrus have hinted at it time and time again. You don't get that much power without without being part of a satanic lodge, which is basically what Glastonbury is, although dressed up as a psuedo-wiccan, neo-pagan pop ritual.

This is true, obviously, the high-level paedophiles at the BBC and in government are behind diverting license payer funds to this biannual satanic ritual.

You mean they're all Freemasons to a man? Damn.

Apart from a few exceptions, McCartney seemed to go out of his way to choose the most obscure songs possible from his back catalogue, strange.
Its pretty much his live set for a long time now shuffled around a bit its a fair bit of Wings/McCartney rather than just older Beatles stuff which people are probably expecting/more familar with.
