It was clearly a watered down setlist for the Glasto crowd, pretty much played the safe bet with most of the black album with a few of the ballady types (unforgiven, nothing else matters, fade to black) chucked in.
In all honesty i was happy to hear the crowd singing along, seemed to have quite a few tallica fans in there.
As for the complaints about the sound quality etc i wouldnt be comparing metallica playing a festival against them playing somwehere that is suited to their sound.
If its their own gig with their own sound crew imbedded, plenty of time to gte their set up perfect etc.
Was watching the livestream on glastocam before the gig and you could hear the sound guys struggling to get soundchecks finished just before they went on stage.
Only thing i found a bit cringeworthy was the "fans" they had in the background all seemed a bit too manufactured for me.
Also the foxhunting intro was clearly designed to stick two fingers up at the press they had about james hunting and was a good laugh
