Rust is beautiful, the texture and variation of colouring always enchants me.

I can see what your talking about *n

Thanks, dude.

To me, you can see a life in that car...It looks like it lived through the fifties as a rod then got rolled into a garage, already painted with flames...Then, 50 years later, someone found it, rolled it back out, sorted the suspension, stoppers, rims, tyres, engine and a couple of bits of brightwork and hit the street/strip.

That car has a history you can see and feel; nut and bolt restorations never will.

True, they do have a story for the person who put all of that time in to the car though. I've never been that bothered about cosmtics on any of my cars though. As long as they go and stop and go round corners I'm hapy:).

just dont get it! looks horrific! some of your cars i get but these rust ones i dont see the appeal!

I for one love these little beauties you keep throwing up, not all to my taste to be fair but I can always see why your feeling it.

I'm still in love with this stunner which I believe was one of yours
Yeah, all that corrosion and signs of metal decay really do it for me too.

Nothing more alluring in automotive terms than a car showing the signs of rotting from the inside out.

.....are we looking at the same picture because all I see is a neglected car badly in need of a new paint job.

Although it'd look good painted, it looks far, FAR better without...

As i said at the start of the thread, horses for courses. IMO it looks vile unpainted, almost like its on its way to be crushed into a cube.

Mate, what are you on about? Where's this metal decay - all I can see is surface rust on account of the paint having been stripped off it by the sun over the years. It's probably spent most of it's life in Arizona. 'Rotting from the inside out' - again, where? No holes that I can see from that shot. I suspect that it's been treated to prevent decay on the chassis, all the rubbers will have been either maintained or replaced. As for "neglected"....knowing the owners of cars like that, I doubt very much that it's neglected in any way.

You can find them around the towns around deserts and old farms in Australia. Just laying on the side of trhe road.
You can get old rust buckets like that at chenobyl if you not affraid of radiation poisoning.
Sorry penski but thats the worst car i think uve posted :(

Rust is homogay tbh
