why don't we do a little "WITB 2025"?. @Widget you have inspired the question in my mind! :p

I have:-

PING G425 Max 10.5 Driver
PING G425 Max Fairway 3 Wood
Titleist U505 Utility 3 Iron
PING G425 4 Hybrid
PING G425 5-SW
Ping Glide 4.0 Lob 60
Taylormade Spider GT

Shot 74 today....

Doesn't really tell the full story....

Eagled the 1st.... Cruise through to 6th tee.... Should have hit 3w as normal, but feeling good, sliced driver into hazard.... Walked off with double. Bogied 9 from middle of fairway only 80 yards out.

Then cruised through next 6.... Bad tee shot on 16th.... Hit driver over the burn last week (approxd 230 carry) - decided to play "safe" this week.... hooked 5 iron left, chipped back into fairway.... 80 yards from flag.... duffed chip, thinned next one, then 3 putted from 20ft for a triple!!!

Ooooo - what could have been....

Still should get cut from that. I'll take +4 today but that triple has killed me for the comp today.... Net 67 but net 65 leading.

Got out yesterday first game of the year I haven’t played sense the end of last year and broke 100 for the first time around then. So was rather happy with 101.

Played really well on the front 9 and on the back 9 there was a 2 groups 4 one after the other that was holding up play for everyone. Most groups let me play through as I on my own and I caught up with the last group of 4 on the 17th. So my back nine score wasn’t my best.

Very happy with my new to me wedges was able to pull off some nice chips around the green. Considering how old they are, they spun the ball up nicely. Need a bit of practice with my 3 wood what only turned the day before. Over all was happy with my first round of the year. This years golf goals for me is to consistently score under 100 or for my average for the year to be under 100.

Beaten today on 18th in the Daily Mail Foursome Tournament.

good game, nice guys but didn't quite have it today between us.

One less set of games to arrange already!

Out today in Bristol for a round, weather held out which was nice, the M4 was closed which was less nice :p only took about 15-20 mins extra each way so I guess not that bad.

Played solid but kinda boring bogey golf, 5 pars, 5 doubles, 8 bogeys. Initially I was a bit unhappy with the round although 6+ months ago I'd bite your hand off to have a steady +18 round but it's an easy course so my course handicap is like 15 or 14 I think so +18 is over my handicap by several shots.

Looking over the stats/round on garmin after getting home and 40 putts! Most of the pins were in tough places and the greens had been aerated recently but still, 40 putts! Four 3-putts and everything else 2-putts.

Actually my tee-to-green stuff was in hindsight pretty solid. So always worth reviewing the round afterwards I think, obviously Garmin/Shotscope/Arccos/<other> makes that a lot easier but still

Ping G400 Max driver, Cobra SZ irons, Ping G2 wedges, Mizuno ST-X 220 5 Wood and 5 Hybrid, cobra putter which isn't really in shot.

Have taken the 3 wood out of the bag but am looking at potentially a 4 hybrid and/or 6 hybrid to get the 5 and 6 irons out as well. 60 degree isn't used much so that one might get put on rotation as well. We will see. Should have a nice gapping once completed.

well, out this morning.. played terrible, mats off hopefully next week! i just cannot hit off them.

trolley went well, its a lithium battery for 18 holes, was going to go for the 36 hole version to make sure that i had enough juice, but this finished 18 today with half the battery left. pleased.

just back from American Golf. Bought some TM Ink golf balls, love them! and some RIFE Cabretta gloves at, 2 for £16. check them out guys! rather than pay £15+ for one "big branded" glove.

Good luck, nothing like being watched on the 1st tee to increase the pressure, it can be quite intimidating
it's a shotgun start so should just be the people I'm playing with which should help, hopefully I won't be teeing off on the first. Captain vs Vice Captain, new club, don't know anyone really that plays there but any time I've played the course they've always been friendly people to say hello.

Stops me staying up to 2am watching TV if nothing else as it's a nice early start and so far showing as being dry in the morning.

enjoy - that's the main thing - don't worry too much about score - just play each shot as it comes...

Does anyone have a Golf GPS watch recommendations? I have a rangefinder but sometimes struggle to pick out the flag especially with trees behind the green.

I have a shotscope X5, it also comes with little sensors you screw into the top of the grips and it tracks your shots and distance as well. I bought it for the distance tracking more than the GPS but the GPS is decent, only thing it misses IMO is telling you what club you should consider for you next shot.

I’m still rocking my old Garmin S40 which does me fine - has yardages to front, middle and back of green plus all hazards. No slope adjustment but that’s fine for me, works well with the Garmin app too.

Had Shotscope X5 for a long time - Very little to fault for the price - the addtion of the tags in the clubs is a bonus and the data you get from that over a year or two is amazing... Really shows strengths and weaknesses of your game.

Great value for money

Only got rid of it as I were a whoop band on one wrist, and then putting the X5 on the other was a bit stupid looking...

But nothing to fault.

Been playing a bunch recently, shock, so after 27 holes on Wednesday then 18 on Thursday and Friday I thought I'd pop out for a quick 9 just for fun. Was quite nice just not caring and trying silly stuff, some of it actually worked :p

On the 5th, par 3 around 150 yards to the flag and wind down and off the right, instead of 7 iron I took my 9 iron and aimed way right trying to hook it back towards the green and it was nearly perfect, ended maybe 8 foot from the pin which I actually made for birdie.

On the 9th I hit a good drive and 5w to near the green and when I saw the ball was sat up a bit on the grass I went for a flop shot, not something I try often and it was a bit right but worked :D Then a 1-handed chip to a foot away for the tap in par. It's not an easy hole so to par it whilst taking the mickey is just silly :p

Out for some more normal/proper/competitive golf for the next 2 days so that felt nice :)
