A weekend of two rounds - played very well on Friday - was 1 over through 9, then some bad shot selection left me with an 81 in the end - not unhappy with that, but what could have been!

Some poor play on Saturday gave me a 90 - putting and chipping was spot on, sometimes a little too aggressive with my chipping but overall not bad - just my approach play left something to be desired. Silly old game

What are you playing off mate? 81 is still a respectable score.

No refund as subs are April to March

No idea, but the little info we have had up to now suggests it is no longer financially viable. It also looks like no new owner is taking over, which is why my previous post is about finding somewhere new to join
Aww man that sucks! You'll have the great memory of tanning our backsides around there haha.

Had a gapping session last week with my pro. Happy with everything bar the top end of my bag. He's put my 5 wood up 1.5 degrees and my 3 wood up 1.5 as well. So essentially a 4 and 6 wood. He also disliked my driver for me, he wasn't happy that it looked like I had to fight it. He had me trying a Ping 440 Max 10.5 with a Denali Red 60S in it. Went well quite liked it. Went to my course and borrowed the same setup from there and a Callaway Quantum Max 10.5 with the Denali Frost 60S in it. All in all quite liked them but couldn't make my mind up. Saw a shaft I'd used in the past on eBay so pulled the trigger on it. Fujikura Pro 2.0 Tour Spec 70S, night and day difference, keeping the GT3 head at 10 (stock). Just need to get it regripped with a midsize of my choosing. Far easier to time and swing, gained more peak height and tighter dispersion. £75 is far cheaper than a new club!

Two weeks and counting for me and with no change in sight for the weather I'm not expecting it to change any time soon. ...
Now three and a half weeks and after 30mm of rain yesterday/overnight I'm not overly hopeful for this weekend. Saying that I ran into the general manager at the gym last night and he though if they had 48 hours of dry weather they might be able to get some holes open, maybe carry only. Said they'd been busy rodding all the drains over the past few weeks. Due to be the Captains farewell event this Sunday followed by AGM for the men's section so would be good to get out but forecast at the moment doesn't look to promising (surprise!).

Yeah, it is a shame but there is nothing we can do about it

On a positive note, we had an email from the Director of Golf at Wynyard to say we have been accepted, so we have a new home to play at as from the 1st March

Wynyard Golf

Looking forward to getting out there, although not sure I will make the first team as they have about a dozen players with plus handicaps and then about 25 or so with a handicap below 1

There are a couple of us who have gone there, but I don't think we will have any issues integrating into the club

Looks like a decent track that! Too many bunkers for my liking though haha!

Good news mate. All the best at Wynyard. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Cheers, if you want to come down for a round sometime, let me know

Haha, it is nice - we have played a few times in charity days and I have played matches there as well which was a big part of why we decided to join

Weather is still too wet around here to enjoy playing a round of golf. Arranged to go and have a session on a sim for a bit of fun and see how rusty I have become.

We've just had an email to say our course is finally fully open after having to play a shortened course for 6 weeks. Next week the weather looks a lot better lads, hope is not lost!
