Good Cheap Server - HP Proliant Microserver 4 BAY - OWNERS THREAD

VMware peeps.

I have a two node cluster, each node is running a HP VSA to act as my shared storage device. TBH they work great however it grinds on my to think they both need 4GB RAM each which is bad when my hosts only have 8GB of RAM.

What storage appliances are you using and recommend?

My cash back arrived today :), I received confirmation in the 20th June and was going to wait until the end of this week before chasing them up but it was waiting for me on the door mat this morning :)

Should I chase up my £100 cash back? I ordered a N54L on 18-6-13 and sent the form out about a week later and not heard anything so far, not even confirmation.

I got mine on the last day of the quoted time-frame in the offer, think they said within 40 days I think for the N40L. There was an email you could contact, forgot what it is now though.

Can anyone confirm whether 4TB drives work or don't in the Microserver? I'm running out of space and I can see 3TB being eaten up pretty quickly if I upgrade from 2TB.

i would email them.

you should have received it by now.

i emailed them last night about mine and they said they are sending today.

[email protected]

thats the email. or just reply to the email where they said your claim was approved.

Is there only the cashback offer for the G8 going on at the moment?

Even with the £109 off it still comes in being very pricy :(

Wish there was something for the N40L/N54L still :(

The offers that are available are listed on HP's 'focus offers' website. The offers do change fairly regularly, but I can't see them bringing anything back for the old G7 model.

I am running 4 x 4TB Seagates in my Microserver and I have no issues. BIOS detects the drives as 180GB or so but in windows detects the full 4TB no problem.
