Goodbye City-Link, hello DHL

They don't sometimes.

Someone i know works for a courier firm and the stories he tells me would shock you.

At least it's not Royal Mail as a lot of parcels they deal with get 'lost' never to be seen again.

My Mum went up to the RM depot and the guy swore blind he didn't have anything addressed to her. She described it and he went and had a look and he was all proud of himself when he found it.

Was meant to be getting my first DHL delivery from OcUK today and have just checked the tracking site to see it says unable to gain timely access?? there are 3 companies within the building each with a separate entry system, approx 200 people working here and our system rings to multiple internal phones (in different departments) to ensure there is always access.

Do DHL not leave delivery cards if they cant get in?

DHL sigh,

I had a heavy heart when I seen DHL as OC's courier of choice...

And sadly that turned out to be with reason...

I have spent today at home waiting and waiting for DHL to turn up with my OC package.

Nothing!

I am on a main street with a main door with a number which can be read from the street, with a gate which is in clear view of my sitting room window which will show ANY car or van parked outside my house.

Nothing came today, nothing was parked outside.

Yet DHL CLAIM to have attempted delivery today. LIARS!

I could have earned a days wage instead of taking an unpaid day off awaiting this package.

And it's not the first time I have had problems with DHL, some years ago they allowed a member of their staff to STEAL my very expensive fully loaded MAC computer Mac monitor and other peripherals.

I wonder if this is going to happen again?

As a 'loyal OcUK Forum Member' you're getting free delivery anyway. If you don't like DHL pay the extra premium and use one of the other shipping options. For the record, the last 4 deliveries I've had via DHL have been OK (and mid-morning). Some delivery areas are worse than others I expect.

HMMM,

I have never had free delivery?? where does this get stated??

Steve

CityLink have always been excellent to me so I have no reason to complain.
Never dealt with DHL, but that driver callback system sounds pretty good....

...pity they don't give you the drivers number before hand so you can tell him to hurry the hell up!!!

Always found DHL to be very good.

the last item ordered i from OCuk was at 5pm an it arrived at 10 am next day not bad!!

Theres always going to be a few ppl who dont get theres ontime but thats the same with any company to be honest

Ordered something last week Thursday with next day DHL service, not blaming OC they got it out same day (was for a job I was doing). DHL didn't even bother delivering on Friday no update on their website, when I called them around 4pm they said the item was on hold because OC got the address wrong? ( there was nothing wrong with the address when I did get it) which I don't believe. I had pickups by DHL that day and that happened but nothing delivered.

Anyway I confirmed the address and they said it would be delivered Monday well nothing came again. I phoned DHL, was told they handed the item to a network courier? which they could not track atm and said it would be with me the next day but again nothing so just went to my local pc shop and got the MB I needed... oh yeah the package turned up on Wednesday. Great Next Day service DHL.

sweet no more citylink

Fantastic move!

Maybe we can all talk about how appalling CityLink are without fear of suspension. They are truly awful in my experience... it is my unfortunate position to be expecting two separate CityLink deliveries on Saturday. I'm not holding my breath.

DHL are about as professional as .... well, there is nothing less professional then them.

DHL@Home is just a joke

There are gonna be problems with any courier service, having said that I recently had an RMA handled by DHL, going from my home in London, to Intel in Dublin, back to london, it was handled without a hitch, same DHL driver for both pick-up & delivery helped me fill out the international waybill, and I was able to track each leg of the journey online, so no complaints on my 1st DHL experience, in fact the service was excellent. That was an international return, I have no experience of DHL's domestic service yet.

As for my local City Link depot, I think they had one guy who acutually possesed a Driver's Licence, they were and still are horrendous, consider yourself fortunate if you even get a card through the door, they don't answer the phone, they don't actually like getting into their vans they prefer you to visit them.

Well,

I have wasted my time trying to get contact details through the DHL website for my local branch.

Their site is pathetic, the consignment number useless, and the LYING DRIVERS have obviously been trained by the dodgy DHL management to not leave a card. I CANNOT DO ANYTHING FROM MY END AS I HAVE NO CARD, AND I APPARENTLY NEED THE CARD FOR ANY DETAILS OVER THE PHONE, which is of not much use as the office is closed until Monday?

If I had a car I would drive out to their location, but it would probably solve nothing as no card was left.

I am pretty ****ed off, not only have I missed a days pay, but I paid OC money for the damn privilege, and wasted more of my time trying in vain to work out some way of getting it today.

And I bet OC will do nothing about it!!!

if you have the tracking number that should be all the information you need to find the package, there shouldnt be any other info on the card anyway

Overclockers only give the consignment number!

This only allows you to read the lies the dodgy DHL staff put into the computer when they are not nosing through other peoples property.

As such my package has again been moved within their depo this morning but not put on any delivery van.

DHL drivers are Liars and did not come anywhere near my house yesterday, AS SUCH NO CARD WAS LEFT.

DHL's website has no contact details so I cannot contact the South Gyle branch that is holding my parcel. I WOULD NEED THE CARD THEY DID NOT LEAVE FOR THAT CARD AND THE TRACKING NUMBER ON THAT CARD IS REQUIRED FOR DISCUSSING THE MATTER ON THE PHONE.

Finding the package is a moot point.

They can still decide to steal it as they did with my Mac some time back. Even after a receptionist had confirmed that package was there, and was described the contents!

yeah the consignment number is what i mean, that should be all you need for them to find it. thats if the ******* pick up and that the same depot that have lied to me on multiple ocassions. doing exactly the same thing claiming they couldnt deliver when they never even tried.

is this the number you have tried them on? 0131 334 9144 fairly sure that was the number i got them on before but its a sat so they prob just wont bother to pick up
