Goodbye City-Link, hello DHL

I have no problems with dhl.The company i work for uses them and spends a lot with them each month. It gets you contacts at all the big depots :) Although i had to use them once when my laptop went missing as it was being returned via dhl.Needless to say i got 1 at twice the spec when i said the company was looking to move back to FEDEX :)

oh a friend also in edinburgh uses them to for corp stuff and he always gets great service from them, they very much prioritise biz over home stuff and thats why home stuff only get delivered if they have time and can be bothered

I have also had an issue with DHL and the wrong address but a part of my order has turned up in an unmarked car ??

the rest of my order is siting in the service station which is 15 minutes down the road but i can not pick it up because they do not allow customers to pick up goods from there service centers.

i am not at all impresed. I never had a problems with city link they were fab (in my area) but it looks like DHL may be a pile of poo (In my area)

whats really anoying me is the fact that a part of my order has arived and they cant send the rest because of a problem with the address i cant even go pick it up :(

DHL has so far been somewhat variable for me, the first guy even phoned me to inform me that he'd tried delivery and then offered to come to my work and hand over the package which was decent of him. The second delivery failed because I wasn't in which is fair enough but for some obscure reason that I've yet to fathom they used the Perth depot instead of the more obvious Dundee office so I had to go and pick it up which was about a 50 mile round trip and lots of fruitless driving about (partly my fault for not knowing industrial estates round Perth I admit), however they did still allow me to pick up the package even though it was 15 minutes after the place was technically closed.

Well that's now twice in 2 weeks that DHL have "messed" with my delivery. Last time the package had been opened and taped closed again (contents missing). This time one of the two packages has gone missing. As my old man signed for the delivery not realising (i find it pretty sus that the driver "did not notice" either) it's quite likely going to be a nightmare to get sorted. Not pointing fingers but same driver both times.

My first experience with DHL was not great. Was expecting some memory to be delivered on Friday but it never showed up and no card was posted. I rang OC and they said it had definitely been dispatched and that the DHL website said I had been carded (my home internet was broken so I couldn't check myself). WTF, where's my card then?!? Again on monday, still no delivery and no card. I got the tracking number off OC, and rang up DHL and arranged to pick it up from their depot (3 miles from my house and I don't have a car). That evening, they saved me the trouble because they finally delivered it. I guess nagging over the phone does work.

Still, they should have bloody delivered it when they were bloody supposed to.

DHL have been dodgy for me too, paid for next day delivery from squadronleader.co.uk on Friday, items didn't turn up until late this afternoon.

if you ordered it after shippping time then they would not of been shipped until monday and then delivered tue as next day...

Well obviously changing to DHL suits ocuk more.
I for one had a great service from citylink.
I do understand that a lot of people have had grief but in turn this has been a bad move for me.
Whilst ocuk prices maybe eachy peachy in comparison to its competitors it goes to show that it can be a simple matter of who of course delivers said item.

Oh ps. Oh when is the rip off of Saturday delivery ever going to be lifted.
Certain competitors charge the same as a normal weekday delivery and making a profit from delivery is even frowned upon in ebay

I thought most delivery companies charge extra for Saturday delivery?

I have yet to actually have a delivery delivered by DHL, I just get this old chap come to my door, he drives a two tone Rover :)

Still good service though.

i don't like citylink to be honest
they don't do Saturday delivery were i live, even if i had payed for it
there aren't enough delivery's round this way for them to put a van on and pay the driver
so if you ever pay for Saturday and it doesn't arrive that more than likely the reason
