I don't know if you can relock the bootloader and keep root.

And regarding nasties, keep your nose clean and you'll be aite :D

My nose be clean alrite, just not trusting in some android apps :(

My Nexus 6 is here, typing on it for this post, will get modding soon, just having a little play first :p

So glad I chose the Nexus 6 over the Note 4 again, she's a lot smoother and I'm yet to install 5.1 (which is prompting me already)

Nice.

Which colour did you got for? will you be installing OTA or via fastboot?

I bought the blue 64GB version, the blue metal trim looks a lot nicer than the silver (IMO).

I'll update via fastboot as I've already downloaded the 5.1 update to my PC, will be a lot quicker this time round :)

I'd recommend just leaving the bootloader unlocked. The amount of bricked devices over on xda due to:

-Option for bootloader unlock must be enabled in device administrator for it to work.
-If something that breaks it from booting you can't access that option. As a result, you can't then unlock the bootloader to fix it with a flash (tends to only be an issue if you're not running a custom recovery)

TWRP is what I use too - just with a lollipop theme!

Yeah the blue has grown on me a lot. Goes well with my case.

Have you chosen a custom recovery?

I went for TWRP.

Yeah, I'm going with TWRP as well :)

Ah ok, though if I use TWRP, then I can safely lock the bootloader?

Phone arrived yesterday, sim card came today all setup now. This is my first smart phone so cant compare to other phones. But I really like it, never had a phone with a touch screen on it. Felt really good and responsive, but then I wasn't taxing it with quick finger skills, as Im very slow having never used a device like this. Build quality seems very good and not as big as I thought really. My hands are fine on it, and once I get a bit more confident im sure ill be one handing it. Setting up the simcard and adding contacts and texting was actually quite straight forward once I played about for about 10 mins. I figured out how to put a password on my device so every time I turn it on, I have some form of security. I downloaded my first ever app, which was the bt mobile, which handily tells you what your using. I went with bt as I have bt infinity which gets you cheaper deals. I went with the 200mins talk, unlimited text and 500mb data all for £5 a month. For a very lite user that is perfect for me, and infact about £15 a month cheaper than what I used on my pay as you go phone. I will be asking some very noobish questions which I hope you guys don't mind helping out with, but I will at least try and figure it out before running for help:)
I bought the mediadevil leather pouch, which I love, just oozes quality, I went with the dark blue with cream threads. Which does match the colour of my phone. I love the tab that you pull so the phone slides out about a quarter.
Briefly tried the camera, comparing it to my £50 cheapo 1.3 megapixel nokia. The difference is extremely huge. Cant quite figure out how to get off the app, it was just luck that I go out.

The camera app has the nav buttons in the same place as always. They are just hidden in camera mode. Tap in that area to reveal.

Been running it since yesterday and all is well. Only minor changes, the kernel is very nicely developed already.

I'm getting an hr of wakelocks over a 17hr day, so I hope r27 makes an improvement.

The battery also dropped 10% overnight last night (11hrs) while doing nothing. Even turned the data off. EDIT - My S3 would drop less than half that.

Battery info pinpointed the kernel for the wakelocks so potentially room for improvement.

Doesn't seem too bad. Mine overnight on idle is around 0.3-0.5% an hour. Just got greenify to hibernate a few things.
