So a repairability rating of 7 out of 10 by ifixit is good. Same rating as for the more expensive iphone 6+.
I see that there are an amazing number (22) of T3 Torx screws in the midframe. Thanks to lots of screws the midframe/battery assembly and the display/motherboard assembly virtually split in two halves. So little in the way of adhesives and plastic clips.

I read somewhere the n6/does have a color led that can be used again when rooted

It does beg the question why they have these abilities but require you to root the phone and activate them.
They probably don't work 100% and that's why Google removed them.

The LED one I understand - Google thought Ambient Display was a better solution.

Yeah Ambient display might be a better solution...so why build the led in, doesnt cost much, pennies but still it all adds up and is simply a waste.
As to double tap i do hear its not as responsive as say on the g3 or m8 but still why allow it on the n9 and not the n6?
LED is there to show low battery when there's not enough juice to power the phone on. It's a diagnostic tool, hacked for NLED.
Did you hear this from reviews?
As that wasn't double tap to wake, just normal Ambient display.

Once xposed is made available for ART that apparently has something that lets you hide root from those apps so you can still use them while rooted.
Any news on how that's coming along? Last time I checked it wasn't look to rosy.
i hope so, as i need barclays apps for home and work - it is handy to have them on my daily phone. However root options with tab to wake, encryption off, led and add block have swung me to go root!

From what I've heard there was the occasional slowdown/lag which has been reduced by disabling encryption.
