Suffers from screen burn :/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKAWr9PjWjw

Also over XDA couple are also suffering from it.....not good

I wouldn't be happy paying out £500+ for a phone only for the screen to start to burn in after only a few days
if it like this after a few days what will it be like after 6 months.

I notice in the US, Google Play Store offering $ 50 Play credit today through Monday on purchases of Nexus 6 and 9 and smart watches. Also they are selling Chromecast for $ 25 and G watch for $ 99.

So for $ 99 less the $ 50 Play Credit you get a G Watch! That is a deal.

Not what I wanted to hear...

On a plus note, she measured 400 nits of brightness on her screen!

I've heard about the screen burn, I've also heard that it is just 'image retention'. Turn the screen off for 5 minutes (or maybe longer) and it will be gone, apparently.

I hope it isn't screen burn, a phone at this price should not be suffering screen burn in a matter of days.

is there anyway i can get this quicker than the 22nd with handtec ? ????
i just spoke to carphone warehouse and the girl didnt know anything, even she asked her managaer and they said week comencing 8th but didnt know if i would be in the first batch and even then they still say the date could change from the 8th

@Over Kill

Seems to me that there really are two batches coming into the UK.

One batch, which coincided with the lucky few who were able to buy a couple of weeks ago on the Google Play Store, is arriving a few days before the est shipment date on GPS of Monday, 15 Dec. I would be surprised if (other than perhaps Voda and O2--ie, genuine carriers, not middlemen like HandTec) anyone gets delivery much sooner than 15 Dec.

A second batch, which might coincide with the latest flurry a couple of days ago on the GPS and which is predicted to ship in 3-4 weeks, looks like a delivery a few days before Xmas.

HandTec looks as if their stock is in this second batch. You say Monday 22 Dec which is actually quite encouraging for me as a recent GPS buyer hoping for a pre Xmas delivery. if I get delivery on Mon 22 Dec I will be pleased.

As to CarPhone Warehouse, I wonder if they fit in the same grouping as Voda and O2 (first dibbs) or whether they will get stock in the first big batch of 15 Dec. Are they really in the same category as Voda and O2? Perhaps they are and Moto wants to keep them sweet.

We shall see. In any case, I expect the Handtec's and the Clove's of the world to be in that second batch.

Thoughts?

Ha!

I think the Moto factory is actually the Quanta and FoxConn and many other Chinese and Taiwanese factories that are sweating to get out lots of smartphones before Xmas.

ie, many more than 10 people are feeling the heat from your comments!

Amazon? You mean, as Eric Schmidt opined recently, Google's main competitor?

Funny you should mention Amazon. I was buying a cookbook for a friend today (The Smitten Kitchen, which I highly recommend). First stop Amazon....16.50 pounds for Prime member and free delivery next day. Second stop, Google Shopping which listed 10 stores, with a starting price of 14.23 pounds, with free delivery in 4 days.

Heck I was delighted to save the 2 quid as I did not need the present until late next week.

Amazon must be feeling the glow of its dizzy heights or something. I for one refuse to buy on Amazon without a thorough review of what Google Shopping (UK) has to offer.

Have you tried it? Is my experience unusual or have you found this to be true too? If you have flexibility on delivery, you can usually save.

Ha! As a Prime member I can safely say Amazon is nearly always my first port of call for shopping online...

I hope they do deliver on their 16th DeC for my 6.

I do use Google shop if the item I require is not on Amazon or not significant.

Agreed. It's not like you're actually buying from Google. They're simply search results. It might be a right dodgy retailer...

Kona, I thought I used them a lot (97 in the last 6 months, but you have me beat over the full year).

Reading about burn in issues from people barely using it or only having it for a few days is making me reconsider this device. Especially if I have to deal with CPW down the line if it gets really bad.
