Nexus 6 case
I am probably being a little cautious but I think I might wait before buying a case until some of you have had your phones delivered and had them in a case and working for a few days. Would appreciate comments about which case I should buy after you have had some use.
I've got a 'Nexus 6 Case, Spigen [Air Cushioned Bumper] [Ultra Hybrid Series] - Gunmetal', which you can get from the rainforest place.
I've seen a few other people get one too. Good enough quality to either be a permanent case, or until you get something better when the phone and cases become more widely available.
I received a text from DHL that contained an email with a link to:
Not had any emails from Google or anyone else......

While I appreciate that you believe everythings works perfectly at Apple, the reality is often not. In any case, Nexus devices are not considered mass market devices that require a huge sales infrastructure. Google's stated aim for Nexus is as a showcase device, leading its Android partners (more than 80 partners in the Android Open Handset Alliance) to view the device as a reference for their future design and implementation. Nexus has previously been an inexpensive device, sometimes lacking in one hardware attribute or another, but devs are the first to buy in to help them develop for the next software iteration. However, as this Board shows, Nexus has begun to have a large and loyal following.
In my opinion, we Nexus users are used to pain and delays in the ordering process!! It makes for a convivial community! And this year, Google appears to have gone to a fuller priced device with excellent hardware specs. We know the software is very good and subject to bug fixes anyway. Hence the popularity catching Google and Moto off guard.
Just my take. Maybe others agree?

Believe me I share the frustration of eager buyers of the Nexus 6. I am just a punter here too.
But I do politely disagree that the Nexus launch was handled "all wrong". As photoshop says, Google never gave an official release date. They appeared to know in advance that stock would be tight with a multi-country launch plan. They and Moto clearly gave carriers/operators priority and forecasting demand through carriers (esp ones that have never sold a Nexus device before--eg Verizon) was always going to be a difficult exercise. Sure Voda has sold Nexus devices before (often SIM free), but Voda put emphasis on the 2 year contract buyers. And Nexus 6 launched in countries which an early launch had not occurred with previous Nexus launches---so again difficult to project demand.
And most of all, worth remembering that Google is not trying to compete with its Android partners! It is trying to ease their path to success by showcasing a new device which others can use to build their strategies. That makes it difficult to please everyone.
Just sayin....
