And most of all, worth remembering that Google is not trying to compete with its Android partners! It is trying to ease their path to success by showcasing a new device which others can use to build their strategies. That makes it difficult to please everyone.

Just sayin....

I don't believe this is the case any more with the Nexus line. The N6 is at a spec level and price point in direct competition with other manufacturers using the Android OS; Google want their pie and they're going to get it (or rather no longer just the ingredients!).

Got on live chat to vodafone to check they actually have my order, didn't have much hope when after a few minutes checking he asked for a number to call me on. Handed me off to someone who couldn't find the order, who handed me off to someone else who checked with the warehouse and said I should be contacted by the end of this week, 24 hours before it's due to be sent out, and my order is on the new system if I call up again and they can't find the order.

Phew. Thought they had lost my order.

@kona786

Believe me I share the frustration of eager buyers of the Nexus 6. I am just a punter here too.

But I do politely disagree that the Nexus launch was handled "all wrong". As photoshop says, Google never gave an official release date. They appeared to know in advance that stock would be tight with a multi-country launch plan. They and Moto clearly gave carriers/operators priority and forecasting demand through carriers (esp ones that have never sold a Nexus device before--eg Verizon) was always going to be a difficult exercise. Sure Voda has sold Nexus devices before (often SIM free), but Voda put emphasis on the 2 year contract buyers. And Nexus 6 launched in countries which an early launch had not occurred with previous Nexus launches---so again difficult to project demand.

Google "released" the Nexus 9 and 6 too early - the nexus 9 has loads of issues which are getting fixed with a redesign by HTC and the nexus 6 isnt available in anywhere near the stock levels you'd expect from a phone release.
I'm a big fan of Google too but you really can't call it anything other than a shambles...

Have to agree with Kona786 & Rimsy on this one. It has been a shambles. Don't think it has been as bad as the N4 release but still pretty much rubbish!

There might be a reason why Google/Moto are producing this in small numbers...

Deal with Lenovo?
Not to distract from the competition?
Not to pee off the competition?

I'm sure Motorola has the capacity to produce more units than it is.

There must be a reason!!

As if people are selling the Nexus 6 on Ebay pre-order for £700! £150 on top of the normal price and you don't even get it any quicker, these people are mad.

There is also one for auction that is currently at £555 for a 16GB

Paul O'Brien has tweeted again on the Nexus 6 with potentially bad news:

Morning folks! Waiting for a 64GB Nexus 6 in the UK? I'm hearing the high capacity model is likely to be further delayed!

If it's not here by Monday I will cancel my CPW order!

Dangerous, I ordered mine on the 21st and have no text or email from CPW whatsoever. I am assuming then mine is considered as a new order. :(

Sent them an email yesterday. This is a joke.

I ordered my Nexus (Blue) 64GB from CPW on the Tuesday 18th November as soon as it went on pre-order and apart from the "Order Acknowledgement" email @19:34 that evening, I have heard zip.

The webpage at the time stated deliveries week beginning 1st December.

No text or email stating delay in delivery etc., and as I specified store delivery, I can't track any courier.

Somehow, i feel I'll be lucky if this gets in my xmas stocking. Ho-ho-ho..NOT!

question, my orange contract is due up on 17th feb. I want to jump onto the EE 4G band wagon and increase my monthly tariff from £15 to about £30 or so. As I've been with Orange for 6 years or so as EE themselves dont have the nexus 6. If i do order from a retailer who has the phone in stock such as CPW, do I get treated as a new customer on EE or taken as an existing customer?

Ordered a Orzly tempered glass protector on 19th and finally arrived today. Was expecting it last week and assumed it had been lost in the post.

Was surprised to see that it came with a case! Not as nice as my transparent Spigen case though.

Now just need to wait for the 64GB model to appear on GPS...
