Google Pixel 7/7 Pro & Pixel Watch

My Pixel 7 Pro battery life is pretty stella as well. Moderate to heavy usage I'm having about 45-50% battery left from a 7am to about 10pm in the evening. This is on the default 1080p and 120hz mode with AOD on

Battery life on the watch has now settled.

Took it off charge @ 6am, on all day at work on max brightness and AOD. Took it off @ 7.30pm

44% left. Happy with that.
That's good news! I hope to get my watch soon, but if it's like the Pixel 6 headphones saga, it might be around 45 days before I get it. I hope not!

So question with the watch - how does the esim work? Does it mirror the SIM from your phone?
I'm with EE on my pixel 7 pro (physical sim) - will i have to do anything?

I think over in the states your provider will let you share a number on the esim at no extra cost but over here in the UK, they've taken it as an opportunity to charge extra for this 'feature'.

I think on Vodafone they want an extra £7 a month which is just stupid.

Edit: I just checked with Vodafone.

"The one number connectivity plan is £7 per month, as you'll have a separate number and can use the services even when you are away from your mobile phone"

What a joke!

Same with EE too. Seems like a con tbh.

Yeah sounds rubbish. What do you lose out on if you don't bother and just link the watch to your phone via BT? Assume just ability to make calls with your watch?

Data and call functions.

But yeah most of us will do fine without.

Oh wow, I didn't realise this. I assumed (wrongly) that the SIM sharing was free. For £7 a month I won't be bothering

Got confirmation my 6 pro trade in has been approved. £320 plus what I sold the watch for makes it a decent upgrade me thinks. Happy with that.

I don't have esim on mine but can make calls with the watch - all through BT of course.

I think the big difference with the esim is that the watch can't make calls independent of the phone.

You can still make calls etc. It just means you need to be close enough to your phone for the watch to connect.

Anyone had issues with the phone not auto rotating (mainly in Youtube). Restarted the phone and turned it off and back on but it rarely goes into full screen mode when rotating (its fine on my S9).
