Google Pixel 7/7 Pro & Pixel Watch

5yr old P20 Pro > Pixel 7 Pro am I going to see a fair leap in performance and camera quality? Battery life on my P20 Pro isn't great and the battery has already been replaced once. Doesn't generally bother me as I'm never far from a charger.
Looking at deals it's around £980ish for 2 years, with 250gb data thrown in.

massive difference in everything. Especially more difficult situations - low light, motion etc.

Decent leap in all apart from outside well lit situations where they are quite similar (basing this off my comparisons with mate 20 pro which uses the same camera setup).
Also macro shots were far better on the mate 20 pro.

i came from a p20 pro .. and i'll say pro 7 is so much better faster all around .. and i don't use it to its full potential .. but bought mine and the wife's outright ..we use ee pay £13 each a month and get 30gb data which we will never use ...
edit: got £150 off each phone and £50 trade in for the p 20 pro's

Was at the Scotland v Spain game last night and was pretty impressed with the camera. It's not full frame with a telephoto lens so have to bear in mind that this is just a phone with a small camera sensor and tiny optical lens.

We were actually using the phone with the zoom to see what card the ref was holding up at the far corner of the field during the game because I couldn't see that far with my own eyes! lol

Wide shot to show the distance

x10 Optical Zoom, not bad considering it is technically low light and you can see how far away they are.

x30 Digital Zoom, artefacts expected but still good enough to see details.

Just got a Pixel 7 today. Upgrading from 3aXL so a nice boost. Transfer pretty smooth but its been patching a 460mb update since lunchtime. Anyone else have problems with slow updates?

edit: its just rebooting now so looks like its done!

It doesn't process the update when the phone is in use.

New Pixel 7 owner here. Is there any benefits on buying a new charger with PPS support?
The chargers that I have are only PD I think. Both are 18w
2016 Pixel Charger
2020 Sony Charger UCH 32
USBC macbook pro charger (not sure how many watts)

There is a marginal benefit, but tbh it's not worth buying a new pps charger for. You'll save a few mins.

Thanks. Not fussed on charging speed. Just want to pro-long battery life for the next couple of years.
I find sony did this very well and would like to replicate or get close to it.

10W basic charging overnight will do the job. 18W when you're in more of a hurry.

Pixel watch has been seriously unpredictable for the last few weeks. Battery drain issues, none responsive screen etc. Have tried factory reset and hopefully it'll behave. Had been absolutely bullet proof until now!

i know it's just me ..but why have a watch that does the same as your phone ?? your lifting your arm to look at it ..same as taking your phone out to look at it .. and it has that bigger screen .. :P

Might be the wrong thread for this, but is it to be expected that my Huawei Smartwatch does not really communicate well with the Pixel 7? For example, previously (P30 Pro) I would read messages on my watch, it would remove the notification from my phone and most preferred, vice versa. Now for example when I have read dozens of twitter, whatsapps, facebook notifications etc on my phone, they are all still there on my watch hours later, even days and I have to clear on there. Annoying really.

Any ideas? It is a major bug bearer for me because this was so seamless before. I guess it is an eco system thing but I was sure Android devices were pretty good for this type of thing.

Which keyboard is popular amongst Pixel 7 owners?
I've been using SwiftKey for a long time but found the predictions are getting worse. The Bing button they've stuck on the toolbar has made me decide to find something else. It can't be removed.
