Google Pixel 7/7 Pro & Pixel Watch

Camera app keeps crashing.
No updates available.
Only a reboot fixes it.
Not the first time, but it's not a consistent issue, hopefully software?
Just frustrating:p

That definitely sounds like you have a dodgy phone. I've had no issues with my P7. When I had a P6 the screen went and I sent it back to Google and it was a 2 day turn around. Just an FYI if you need to send it to them.

Anyone elses P7P battery gone down the drain? I know they degrade but mines been shocking since March/ April time - not gaming or anything intensive either; just the odd podcast/ some music at work and occasional social media useage.

All play/ security services are up to date too

I get it every few months but a restart of the phone sorts it out.

I can say when I first got it I was impressed over my old phone.

Now it feels ok I could probably still just about clear a work day with heavy use but it certainly feels less. Often feels like 20% is gone in the morning before I even settle down to work.

I Factory reset my phone, see if the camera plays better.

Is £414 a decent price for the 128gb pixel 7? My 4 year old Huawei P30 Pro has randomly lost the fingerprint function a couple of days ago, and having to constantly type my PIN and log in to apps with passwords is getting very old very fast!

Thanks, I can pick it up today, so very tempting, still trying to work out how it compared to the P30 pro - latest version of Android should be a big improvement for a start, but I've read the camera isn't necessarily as good, and the battery doesn't last as long :(

I guess it will depend on your expectations on the battery front. I've been impressed now that I'm around 3 weeks into having my Pixel 7 and the battery easily lasts the day (6 to 7 hours SoT) and I charge overnight (Adaptive charging). As for the camera I can only say it's a definite improvement from my iPhone 14 pro but I can't comment on the P30 Pro. I've had no issues with the Pixel 7 since receiving it.

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered it this morning, need to go pick it up from store tomorrow :)

Did some more troubleshooting on the P30 and it seems the bottom mic isn't working as well (which would explain some issues I've had with people not hearing me in calls), so seems sensible to replace it before it fully dies!

Might actually be able to get it for <£400, depending on how soon I can cancel the contract :p

I moved from a Mate 20 Pro to a Pixel 7. Camera in the main lens is very good, although I have missed the telephoto lens and macro lens of the Huawei.

Battery life is ok, but the Huawei was better when it was still fresh. I had the Mate 20 Pro for 4 years and was the best phone I owned - in many ways it was a complete package, and it's a shame that I've not really found any current phone on the market that offers what it did - it was very much ahead of its time.

What clear cases are people using for the 7 pro? My Spigen ultra hybrid has started to go yellow on the inside, i dont smoke, so must be from sunlight, which is pretty bad as its less than a year old

Totally agree - the mate 20 pro is still my all time favourite smart phone and the pixel 7 pro isn't as big an upgrade over it as you'd imagine!

Cancelled contract yesterday, total cost for the phone including early termination charges = £387

As far as upgrade goes, not noticing any "downgrade" as such so far. Battery life seems comparable, Android 13 is much nicer to navigate than Emui 12, but I've not had much chance to test the camera.

Unfortunately although the fingerprint scanner "works", it's very unreliable (maybe down to the screen protector though)

My other half has the Ringke fusion on her 6 which is another clear case, and it has gone really yellow (not too noticeable as her phone is the coral one, but when you take it off it looks nasty!)

I went for the black Spigen fusion for my Pixel 7, as I believe it's only the TPU part which turns yellow, and the poly carbonate should stay clear (hopefully, I have the snow pixel, so it will be very obvious if it does yellow!)
