Google Pixel 8/8 Pro & Pixel Watch 2

I've not seen that problem on my Pixel 8.
My bad, I was using the wrong ratio - I see it now, even after updating to Android 15. :(

After updating to Android 15, something I think I like is the need for a fingerprint to enable file transfer mode when you plug the phone into your PC. I'm not sure if that's going to become annoying or not, but as I only plug my phone into my PC now and again, I'll bear with it.

Android 15 will verify it's you when you connect to a PC - Android Authority

I upgraded to Android 15 yesterday. My butt dyno says it's a little smoother, more responsive, notifications are better and Lynx Launcher in particular behaves better. No downsides have popped up yet.

I remember stuff like this tripping people up back in the days of the HTC desire with the pin not the fingerprint. It annoyed most people because it was extra steps and they didn't know/care about the security implications of someone random having access to your phone via a pc. As the IT guy it was painful to have to explain to senior management that they needed to be security conscious too.

1 year with this Pixel 8 Pro now, and can honestly say it's one of the best handsets I've owned. Some of the prices quoted lately are unbelievable, too. I could pick up a P9 next year at a great price, but only if the battery gets annoying on this current device as the spec is just too close to the P9. :)

Definitely right, the 8 pro is a great phone, very pleased with mine. Especially at the bargain price I paid from Currys.

Will probably hang on to it for at least two years, maybe three if the battery holds out.

I've just picked up an 8 Pro and after reading all the hype and watching all the YouTubers going on how the camera is amazing I am extremely disappointed with it. Comparing the pictures to the wife's Samsung galaxy A55 which is a mid range phone not known for it's camera in the way the 8 Pro is the pics are so much better, pics on mine look washed out, grainy and miserable with no detail, on hers they are clear and the colours pop and much more vibrant

My 4 year old OnePlus Nord took better pics which makes no sense because the spec is no where near as good

I've tried everything, night mode on/off, all the different settings and nothing works

Why is this, am I missing something obvious? It's not editing because I've tried that too and they still look pants compared a point and shoot pic on the A55

Tye phone is great other than the camera letting it down

Yeah there's something not right there. My mum and dad both have the A55 IIRC and when comparing pictures they've taken of my daughter to ones I've taken basically standing next to them it's night and day.

I don't think it's the phone, well lit pics look decent enough when there is plenty of light but as soon as the light is dull the problem occurs

There are loads of threads on Reddit and on the internet about it too

Must be shoddy manufacturing, like I say plenty of people have the same experience as me loads of information out there on the issue but based on that pic you clearly don't have the issue, it looks like I would expect from the phone

I need to decide if I'm going to return it or not, probably should do the camera is important to me and there is clearly an issue with it

Taken in a dimly lit car park...

Did you do anything within the settings for this picture? Is it just a point and shoot shot with everything on auto or did you use night mode specifically etc

Also was it edited afterwards?

I've just been playing around with mine, I'm in a well lit room with a wooden desk, I've disabled macro and turned everything else off. If I put the camera close to the table it's colour is greyed out, if I move the camera closer (macro off) the colour gets more accurate, not sure what this means but seems odd
