Google Pixel 8/8 Pro & Pixel Watch 2

I've been waiting for the 8 as I'd like to upgrade my 5 this year but with the price hike you can nearly get 2x pixel 7's for the price of one 8 (Pixel 7 was £365 on rain forest last time I looked). Obviously I don't need two phones but the value proposition of the 7 is hard to overlook .
I'm thinking the same, 7 Pro is £690.

999 GBP better be for the 256GB pro otherwise that bump is bordering on extortionate.
I mean if that is the price for a 128gb then they’ve clearly lined it up similar to the 15 Pro.

And I guess if they throw in the Watch 2 then makes the price slightly more easy to swallow?

Google held prices last year, so can't blame them for moving up, but seems too much of a bump for the Pro in particular if that's still only on 128GB storage.

i guess it depends on where you’re coming in from I guess-for a lot of you it’s all about reducing cost whereas for someone new/moving from Apple, £999 and you get the Pro and Watch seems like a good deal.

Nothings clear as its still just a rumour. Plus inflation in the UK has been a joke so maintaining no increase 2 years in a row may not be feasible. Also gives them to more room to drop the price on seasonal sales.

But regardless I'll still buy it as there's not another handset I would want. And like you said, with the watch included it's still a deal.

The seven years of proper updates really appeals I always have my phone's for 5+ years.
12gb RAM in a phone seems laughable I have PCs with less.
I hear Pixels are usually good with battery life as well, which is the main thing I want along with a good size screen.

Pixels are generally not considered good for battery life, in comparison to a lot of others.

The chips are aren't as efficient as others, and get hot quickly.

Yep, if they cannot get that addressed to a degree with the 8, I'll be sticking with my 5 for another year.
