Google Pixel 9 Series (9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL/9 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 3)

Anyone noticed some apps are cut off in the bottom of the screen? Like for some games in landscape mode usually there UI buttons and its cuttoff in p9 pro
That's due to Android 15 forcing apps to fill the area where the status bar is (for a more full screen like effect), unfortunately that broke a few apps on how they scale. For some apps I found forcing it in split screen mode then back to full screen fixes it.

Yes which is +£230 odd going through Google, which just didn't make the phone as good of a deal anymore in my eyes.
Is that the only place that does insurance?
No.

Nationwide used to be 13 now going up to 18 quid per month. Covers me and my family for phones and travel insurance. And covers me with full AA cover.

For people who have traded in, what price do you get compared to the estimate?
I'm being offered £500, but if they inspect it and value it under £375 they send it back and I get no money.
Does this happen often?

I can get the 9xl pro for £250 if I get the full £500 trade in, but even if I get £375, it's still a great price for the phone.

As long as the phone is in good condition it should pass the checks for the full quote.

As stated above I got confirmation yesterday for mine.

I traded in the 8 Pro & was given an estimate of £550 & that is exactly what I got, just waiting the money to appear in bank.

Phones been in a case since new and still has protective strips on it.
The original screen protector has some marks, I could peel that off and it should look brand new underneath.

Do I do it, S21ultra to 9XL pro......?

Will be getting the Samsung S25 Ultra in January or are you done with Ultra's now?
Not if they still have that same main sensor for the camera , rumours are it will .

S24 ultra is a beast, it's the camera as with the s22u, s23u that let's it down. That awful 200mp camera when anything moves plus the over saturation of colours

Is this Android 15 + Pixel 9 specific? My pixel 7 has android 15 but it never had the issue.
Also tried teh split screen mode but no effect.

The crop is where the round edges are located

The only apps I've noticed it happening is Pokémon Go (some of the UI is now behind the pin hole camera) and Drops (bottom toolbar is hidden). For Pokémon Go at least, it's been reported on other phones with A15 so not Pixel 9 related. Basically need to wait for the developer to make their app A15 compatible.

I've been using the 9 Pro Fold I picked up from eBay for the last day , so far pretty impressed.

When folded it's smaller then my 9 Pro XL but thicker, unfolded it's got a great form factor. The crease isn't really noticeable when looking at it directly unless under bright lighting.

Looks like it could be good for reading web pages, emails, watching YouTube and also a lot of the technical PDf docs I have to read quite regularly.

Not sure I like the fingerprint sensor on the side in the button.

The thing that does annoy me is the cameras aren't the same as the standard 9 Pros, why when the list price on this is crazy expensive?

The potential of the fold is massive but there are a lot of compromises I feel and will be interesting to see how much I unfold when the novelty wears off .

The good news is having got it brand new on eBay for 1050 I should be able to sell it on without too much loss if I don't get on with it .

It's going to be interesting to see how the battery life is in contrast to the 9 Pro XL (I pretty much consider that to be almost perfect).

I'm looking forward to the camera blind tests this year by MKBHD, I think we have been spoilt with specs on paper when it comes to cameras and too much fixation on them in general.

If I remember correctly the last one even the flip 5 came in the top 5 with the Pixel 7a winning.

We've got a good range of foldable devices this year so will be interesting to see.

Fold phones have very bad depreciation. I wouldn't expect a used Fold to fetch more than £800.

Most people are hesitant to buy a used fold device.

Someone in this thread suggested the case ringke onyx. Thanks for that.

I normally use caseology parallax in my previous phones but found that their design this time for pixel 9 pro has less back camera protection than i would like. The ringke has couple more millimetres of height for the back camera.

Yep, I expect to take a hit but it won't be as much as paying list at £1759 which is crazy.

Just sold my 14 month old 8 Pro XL 256gb for £380. Big drop on value but that's expected .

Going to hold onto the 9 Pro XL and the fold and will let the kids have them in a year or so if I change . Easier then selling and taking the hit.

I love the 9 Pro XL , practically perfect but there isn't a big change from the 8 Pro. I was playing with both of mine.

With the fold I genuinely think it will enhance how I use a phone, I suspect my iPad will get very little use now.

Has anyone got anything positive to say about PCS?
Its really tempting to exchange for Z Fold 4 for a Pixel 9 Pro XL, they are offering £685 but the horror stories I keep seeing are really off putting and my Fold 4 is in mint condition

So further to the above. Google been dropping the emails telling me the BF deals were coming, so I decided to wait for the deals to drop.
The deal goes live today and I get the email telling me, so I log on to buy a Pixel 9 Pro XL and p/x my Fold 4....in 2 weeks its gone from £685 p/x offer to £288 p/x.....wtaf no thanks Google go do one.
