Google Pixel 9 Series (9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL/9 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 3)

Yeah doesn't feel like packaging for a premium price product. I guess it works and lots of people will bin it anyways. Maybe they'll green wash it and say it's better for recycling
I think I prefer the pixel 8 in hand feel but the 9 feels amazing with the official Google case on

XXL Pro on left, S24 Ultra on right. Generally overall in low light with colourcast lighting the Pixel does better, but in some situations where there is strong backlighting at the edge of frame it seems Samsung does better. Both are at the default 12MP output in photo mode.

The Pixel versions are all truer to what I see with my eyes in this situation apart from in the 3rd shot where the Pixel has not captured the indirect bounce illumination off the desk from the screen as accurately.

Think I'm fully used to Pixel OS now, taken effectively 48hrs to get accustomed. I do miss some Samsung stuff like one handed operations+ for the edge gesture actions, but I've worked around them by amplifying my Nova Launcher homescreen gestures and now making use of lockscreen widgets too to load stuff like Google Wallet.

Rejigged the app drawer sizing too as the Pixel screen is more narrow than the S24 Ultra meaning icons and stuff require a slight tweak.

Also, the world's most pointless feature that doesn't work half the time award goes to Google for putting in a.... thermometer.....

Public service advisory here fellas, turn theft protection stuff on. Seems to be off by default (or I hadn't set it up). I read a story on reddit today of phone being stolen then taking out loans as it was unlocked... (It was an iPhone but same logic applies)

Ah that is not the same thing, nowhere close, it's just a basic feature that pulls down the top of the screen and that is it. Samsung One Handed Operations+ goes far beyond what the name of the module would otherwise suggest and gives you endless customisation for edge gestures and actions from any part of any side edge of the screen using handles you can customise.
