Google Pixel and Pixel XL

hmm. They've offered me an rma but I have to send the device first. Would be willing to do it for an xl but I might just persevere.

Was it a quick process?
Yes I think mine was 4 days after sending my device off first.
I received a brand new fully boxed XL with all wires and plugs, had to buy new case and screen protector but that's a small price to pay for a bigger phone.

The random notification sounds I mentioned previously are still happening. I contacted support and after a few trouble shooting checks, they've determined that it's a bug with Oreo. As they can't tell me if or when this will be fixed they're going to replace the handset. I was told it would take them 3-5 days to receive my handset and then another 3-5 before I received my replacement.

I'm going to need my phone a lot over the weekend so I'm going to wait until next week before I sent it off - hopefully the 4 day turnaround mentioned above is more accurate than the 6-10 days I was quoted.

I get them too but only after coming out of do not disturb mode having received notifications while it was on.
Mine appear to be linked to the Oreo update. Ever since I updated I've been getting random noises typically when turning the screen on or opening & closing apps. I've tried switching the phone into safe mode and a factory reset but the sounds persist.

If I buy a pixel in New York, will I have any problems with it working over here? Apart from not being able to send it back I guess?

Still can't decide whether to stick with my pixel or trade up for a pixel xl given the current great price sim free. However if trading up it then becomes a shout between the xl and op 5 . Tempted by the V30 too....

OnePlus 5 wouldn't come into it for me; Pixel XL all day long for the price (£450 at CPW). It might drop further after the Pixel 2 is released.

Fair enough. I'm perfectly content with 32gb myself (I suppose stock Android helps). I'm not even using half the space on my 32gb 6P.
Since I've started using Spotify for my music and Photo's for the photos I barely use any storage either. Just an occasional bit for my apps.

I used to worry about storage because I kept all my FLAC music on an external sd card, but since I've relaxed about music quality my life is a lot easier!

Been given a 4 month old Pixel 128gb. Seems decent! Screen takes some getting used to though, so "vibrant" (aka oversaturated).

It's currently on 7.1.2 April security update, is it worth updating to 8.0?

I slightly regret updating to 8 on my Nexus 5x, as I'm not entirely convinced everything is working as smoothly since(numerous problems with notifications and the annoying "running in background"). But maybe it's better on the better pixel.

Other than the aforementioned notification issue, I haven't thought that my phone was running slower at all since updating. At first a few of us seem to have bad battery, but the system seems to learn our usage in a day or so so now it's back to how it was.
