Google Pixel and Pixel XL

The camera on the oneplus 3 is brilliant

I've had a Nexus 6p, iPhone 6s, Galaxy s6 and it holds it own against those

You certainly shouldn't be buying a pixel solely based on camera performance, it's better.....but not much

Wow! I had not appreciated how the rear glass of the Very Black Pixel attracts fingerprints. Thanks for that view. I think that is the first photo I have seen showing them. On my Quite Silver Pixel XL, fingerprints are NOT at all noticeable---the lighter colour seems to disguise the fingerprints.

Is the part glass just cosmetic or does it serve some purpose? To me doesn't look that good to start with but cover it with finger prints and it looks horrid.

You can see some lens flare a couple of times here. For example at the 1m mark -

What i've noticed (and many others too) is the jerking when the video pans from one side to the other caused by the stabilisation.

It's like the effect when a NTSC video is adjusted for PAL by repeating a single frame every second.. really annoying once you notice it

a lot of tiny improvements that help your life. the ability for one to hide apps from the app drawer is to me such a silly feature that should be standard but it's not. as a result many people have such messy untidy phones with hard to find apps. I have one page and folders making finding apps a thing of the past apps and a split second job to get to them.

the gestures is a create way to launch apps you often use. mine is set up so i double tap the home page and it launches whataspp, pinch in and it launches facebook messanger, pinch out for allo, swipe down with one finger to open the camera, swipe up to open the app drawer, now freeing the need for an app drawer icon, allowing me more apps on the dock.

swiping on apps from the home screen is also great. just a for instance, my phone icon launches the phone app, but swipe up on the icon and it launches my voicemail app. click music icon and it launches music, swipe up and it launches my favourite news app.

it's stuff like this that makes my experience on android so easy and tidy. i see people go to open their calendar and spend what feels like 10 minutes searching.

Hmmm something is draining my battery in standby but can't work out what. Lost 8% over night, battery stats don't show it as awake though.

Edit: think it may be android wear, had Bluetooth off but didn't disconnect it from the app.

Took few pics last night and couldn't see any flare effect on any of them so hopefully mine isn't affected.

I'm getting 2 days battery life quite easily with normal use so pleased with that.

Anyone else trying out night light? I've got it set for automatic sunset to sunrise, but it didn't come on last night. Bug?

I am and it's worked perfectly so far. Although it seems way more yellow/red than the same setting on my iPad which i'm not sure if I prefer.

Blimey, I see you have really adopted this in a big way. TBH I would need a prompt sheet for all that as I would never remember what the hell I was doing. Having said that I don't use a lot of apps if I'm honest, sticking mostly to Google apps which I can easily fit on one page. I can launch the camera on my phone from a handy button on the side, even with the phone locked.

I think Nova is probably a bit of overkill for the likes of me. :)
