Google Pixel and Pixel XL

Nor do Google :p

its CPW.

Well I bet Google have discounted them to CPW who have in turn discounted them.

I very much doubt CPW will be selling them at a significant discount and taking a hit on the margin and potentially annoying Google to boot.

Doesn't look I'll be getting the Pixel from CPW anytime soon.

My Nexus 4 died last week after 4 years of solid service. I've always bought my phone either directly from the operator, or Sim Free and chosen a sim only contract. However as the price of the Pixel sim free is out of reach for myself at the moment, I decided to go through CPW for one of their deals.

Last week I tried to purchase the Pixel on contract on a weekend special offer, however after placing the order on-line I receieved an e-mail 5 minutes later stating my card had been declined. I tried again the same night and it was declined again.

I phoned customer service the next day and they said they could process the payment again but couldn't honour the price and wanted an extra £100 upfront, hence I declined.

Fast forward a week and I spotted the Pixel on a tariff I wanted at a reasonable price again, placed an order last night and got confirmation e-mail and no follow up payment declined e-mail! Result!

However, this afternoon I receieved an e-mail stating I had failed a credit check. Knowing this was BS (recently had an experian report of 999), I phoned them up all 3 of the unhelpful "customer service" team stated my account had been locked for 30 days due to me trying to place multiple orders.

Apparently there's no way they can remove this lock for 30 days? What sort of joke is this? I fail to believe there's no one at CPW who can remove the lock? I just want to give them money!

CPW is a ****show anyway.

You know it's the network who preform the credit check when using cpw?

I agree, cpw will have secured a deal with them to sell them at a discount .

Hmm, I just paid £699 for a 128gb because it was £100 more than the 32gb.

Now it's £170 more than the 32gb, I'd probbably prefer a 32gb.

Apple never does this :/

699!?!!

I'm trying to convince myself to buy the phone. Yet everytime I see that price I just have to take a step back. Is it really worth 200+ more than my HTC10?

I paid the same, but returned it as I didn't feel it warranted the price tag as it has it's (minor) flaws.

I just picked up the 32GB model for £529.99 as I feel the cost saving outweighs the minor annoyances. If I hadn't bought this, it would have been a S7 or HTC 10... but at the current prices, the Pixel is actually cheapest (and best IMO).

Wave7 has published some research estimates in the US for the Pixel since its release about a month ago and one note that I thought was impressive: Pixel phones were 7.5% of all Verizon US activations in the past month.

Why impressive? Because as a long time Nexus phone user I always assumed Nexus would be a niche phone with low market share, despite its keen following. With Pixel, Google has pushed well beyond Nexus market share with extensive marketing that has been a big difference.

Wonder if the numbers from EE and Carphone Warehouse are equally impressive in the UK, especially with contract sales?

I received mine today.

Excellent device. I really loved the nexus 6p camera, one of the reasons I deem this to be worth the money.
It makes the Nexus 5x a total steal in comparison, best camera out there in a mid range device.

The image uploading service had really reduced the quality of them. :/

EE has free daydream offer now. Anyone know if this only applies to contract only? I dont see any simfree promo in their website.

I'm keeping my eye open for one as well. Loved my Nexus 4 a couple of years ago but wasn't that impressed with the 5 or 5x last year.

Carphone Warehouse have it for £70 off Handset right now, thats something. ~£150 off contract upfront cost.

Holding out though.
