Google Pixel and Pixel XL

What sort of protection are people using for their Pixels? I normally run my phones without anything as I hate to add any bulk to them, but thinking of a D Brand skin or a slim case.

Have you actually read in to those stats?

Yes.

The fact that Pixel activations are registering like they are is something I have never seen before for Google hardware (esp Nexus phones) which should lead to more hardware introductions in future.

This is one reason I am also following the progress on Google Home hardware currently offered only in US but coming to UK in 2017, hopefully with the integration of many interesting third party services.

This has the potential of becoming (Apple-like) a virtual cycle for Google where great software introductions (like Google Assistant) into more hardware that Google self-brands becomes a reason for users to need to buy more products. Already I note that the "OK Google" hotword used in Google Assistant, Google Pixel, Google Home etc is being introduced into Android Auto, the infotainment software in cars.

had similar set make and set up with samsung s6, decent case and cover. happy with them both fit snug with my pixel xl

Been offered a very attractive deal to change from the iPhone 6 to the Google Pixel.

I must admit I really like the look of it but would this upgrade be worth while?

I'd say its worth it, I came from a 6s.

You do lose a couple of features though, apple wallet and 3d touch is better.

yes its a great phone Ive been Samsung all my days and after the Note 7 debacle Ive not looked back, The wife is getting the pixel in the New year as is her sister

Still can't fault mine, ex iphone 6 and Note 7 owner here.

Battery life is good and seems to last longer than my note 7 did.

Case is required, it gets marked easily.

im leaning towards replacing my note 4 with an XL.... But worried about battery life

My girlfriend switched plug socket off at wall one late night before I went to bed. I was too tired to notice my phone not charging and fell straight asleep. Woke up next day with 25% battery left. Somehow I managed to make that last all day with power saver mode on. Still had few % left when I got home from work.
Coming from a s6 I am really impressed.

So what are the best Sim Only deals on the XL right now? Or are there any?

Best I've been able to see is the CPW offer with the Free VR which softens the blow a bit.
Does anyone reckon we'll see a price drop for Boxing Day/January sales?

Is anyone having issues with the Bluetooth hands free car facility? The speech works fine, it's the text messages that are haywire. When I get a text, I get an alert... For every text message I've ever received, one after the other. Every time I press ignore it moves on to the next message alert.

Using Ford Sync so not sure if it's that, but my Z3 didn't do this and the wife's iPhone didn't do it either.

Right...had the pixel a couple days... Coming from a one month iPhone 7plus experiment... Have to say... I'm quite disappointed by battery life... Have 2 hours sot yesterday... On one hour so far today and on 64℅....
