So Brodit where very kind and sent me an Active Mount for the XL to review. I let my phone run down overnight and used the new mount as I SatNav'd and listed to podcasts Xmas morning on my 3 hour drive to the relatives.
I was a little surprised, starting at 22% I was down to 13% within around 20 minutes...
Luckily I had a difference USB C cable in my glove box (how geeky is that?) which let it charge at full whack.
I'm begging to lose faith in Brodit. They didn't use a fast charging cable for the Note 5 mount and this one has a sub par cable, so it basically doesn't work. For £59 you would expect better.
I'll email them with the hope they will say 'ah, thanks, we'll change the cable for all future sales'...
The only plus, it looks like this is the first active mount they've done that lets you change the cable. (I wonder if it's related to my last video where I hacked their mount about and put my own fast charging cable in?)
