Err no thanks at those sort of prices, tablets can take a long walk off a short pier.

I'll be sticking with my £199 Netbook thats just as portable, has a dual core CPU, 2gb ram, has 8+ hours battery life, 3g sim slot, 250gb storage, hardware keyboard, 4 USB slots, mem card slot, 10.1" 1024x600 res screen.

But wait..no touch screen & it can't play Angry Birds. Netbook must be fail..

These tablets are a prime example consumers getting fleeced imo...but they'll sell shed loads because they are so shiny.

there's angry birds for pc! :D

Having checked what was presented at the MWC around February, I decided not to hold my breath for these tablets comming soon after that (in other words, simply not to follow the news surrounding the release of tablets) because things can happen for them to be delayed or simply scheduled for late release. Nevertheless, I was expecting something to be out by end of March and it comes as a bit of surprise that the Xoom is still yet to arrive any moment to the UK and that this is actually going to be the earliest release of the tablet in Europe.

What puzzles me more is that the ipad 2 was not unveiled around the time of the MWC and seems to be already out, it looks fairly impressive and its allegedly cheaper for us than the first ipad since prices will match the US ones. Unless Im missing something, Apple's competitors in this market are really testing our patience not to buy an ipad 2 if they end up releasing their tablets in the summer or, God forbid, later than that. What is going on? Are the likes of HTC or Samsung trying to delay in order to improve something in their unveiled-at-the-MWC models or will they simply end up releasing them whenever they feel like but at lower prices?

What netbook might that be? sounds something like I want.

I was really tempted to buy the Samsung Galaxy 3G 7 inch tablet for £299, but then the Advent Vega's price dropped to £200 so I haven't bought one yet.

I don't think I'll buy a tablet just yet, if the Vega gets Honeycomb 3.0 then I'll most likely go for that and use my Nokia 5800 as a wireless spot. Although a 3G tablet sounds useful.

I just want a portable media device with a good battery life and a good screen. I've been trying to decide between a netbook or a tablet. Both have their advantages and disadvantages and it's a pain trying to find the perfect thing!

The tablets are faster than netbooks for playing video/browsing the internet and are fun to use but their storage isn't great and it could be annoying watching tv shows/films while holding the tablet the entire time. They have good battery life too.

Netbooks offer a whole lot more storage (can fit up to 1TB HDD into some of the netbooks), good battery life (similiar to tablets), but the keyboards are really annoying and the screens aren't fantastic. You can put 2GB DDR3 memory in them which is great and for the same price as a good quality tablet (£300 - £500) you can get a really decent netbook.

So many options..but my budget is limited to £300. Anyone have any advice haha

When does Honeycomb 3.0 actually come out by the way?

Do the new tablets using 3.0 have a software that can allow us to highlight or write over pdf documents(even if its downloadable)? Im looking for something like that for uni and noticed the HTC Flyer will have such software but God knows when they will release it.

It the moment the Flyer will be the only one to offer pen input.
