GordyR's Beginners Guide to Bodybuilding

Err, two or so pints (more of a cider fan) on a friday, just to chill. Then maybe an increase on a saturday.

Im still in the cutting stages and it's going along pretty good etc. I just don't want to hinder my progress or even worse go off track completely. Since I understand body building has the little to no social life side of it lol.

if your cutting stick to no more than two or three pints apart from the odd occasions. Remember theres 1000 crap calories in 4 pints. Not good m8. I loose weight JUST stopping beer lol its wierd but not when you consider the numbers

Cider though, it's juices of apples :D, pointles arguement I guess but I suppose it has less calories, maybe...

Well so much for peer pressure. Looks like I'll stick with a pint of water.....:(.

In fact since alcohol promotes testosterone and inhibits the stress hormone cortisol, i'd imagine its pretty good for BB'ing.
That's not how I understand it. Or are you just talking about maybe a couple of pints?

From what I've read getting drunk and consuming excessive alcohol can lower testosterone levels for several days.

both the above maybe true, im only speaking outta low level biology. Test levels being down for days might be due to an excessive spik produced during consumption. Alcohol may inhibit protein synthesis, can you provide any links to reputed evidence? (ie not americans who pretty much consider more than one pint to be alcoholism and condemn you to death for an 8 pint binge)

tbh though on a cut - with the calorie deficit i would rather be putting every last calorie to good use with things my body needs (pro/carb/fat) rather then empty calories in alcohol

or maybe im just a perfectionist :p

Do you have a social life lol?

Should I keep my cardio day? after each weight session I've been doing HIIT on the cross trainer just for like 5-10 minutes, rock solid. Anyway for my cardio day, should I keep it? or drop it? if to keep, what to do? just sit on the treadmill for an hour or cross trainer?

I think you've been told a bunch of times to stop doing cardio after weights, why is it you fly in the face of good advice?

indeed, though medium paced cardio is fine, he has been told plenty that HIIT is counter productive to the purpose of the weights.
he is seeing the results that keep him happy though, so who are we to argue!
