Hi

EVGA GTX 670 FTW Signature 2 2GB

I know you I can replace the TIM or remove the cooler.

As the memory chips are not cooled (no heat sink touching them.) Is there any way some heat sinks can be added, and is this allowed under warrenty.

I also have a couple of back plate (680s tho) how easy are they to fit.

Hi,

this is a difficulty one because there is not much space between the RAMs and the cooler, if you can find thin passive coolers you can use them, they get mostly installed with thermal glue. If you use this you have to be very carefully when you want to remove them again. For this I would suggest to slize them off with a rasor blade because if you want to pull them off it can be possible that you ripp off the RAM from the board which would be very expensive to get it repaired again. Another way would be to tripple up some thermal pads that they will touch the cooler but this is not very effective.

Dominik, after reading that you said the GTX 680 backplates would fit a GTX 670 (see sig). I purchased 2 from OcUK, but when to fit them today. 2 things 1) there are only 4 screws holding the cooler in place. 2) the 4 screws with springs supplied, do not fit (seems like they are a bigger size).

Yes, this is right. Sorry, I forgot to update you on this as the instruction is only for the normal FTW edition. With the Sig2 you have to use the four screws from the card.
 
Hey dominik when will the backplates for the EVGA Titan SC Sig edition be available? I would hope right after the release of the GPU coming next week? :)

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I have a EVGA 580 in my PC which I have now been told is the cause of my PC not booting up.

I am about to start a RMA and wanted some advice before I start this process.

Has anyone experience of going through this process and how long this would take?

There is an advanced RMA option as well as standard one - is there any difference between the two?

Any advice/things to consider before I start this process with EVGA?

You have nothing to worry about,posted mine a few weeks ago on a friday morning,they received it the wednesday and i got my new one back on the monday,all depends on what method you use to post it,i used a standard tracked service which was fine for me.

Evga's service is outstanding and you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the reply - did you go through the advanced RMA (where they take money off you?) or standard?

How does the RMA work? Do they just replace my 580 with a new 580?
 
I went through a 2nd user rma,just the same as the original user.

They didnt take any money from me but just replaced my 580 classified.

Hi,

the difference between the normal RMA and the advanced one is, with the normal RMA you send us the product and we need 1-3 business days in our office till we ship a replacement. With the advanced one you need to place a security collateral via paypal, we will send you a replacement and you have 30 days to send us the old product back to get the collateral refunded. At the end there is no extra cost compared to the normal RMA.

About the replacement, normally we do replace cards with the same model when it is available. If it is not available we replace it with a card of equal or better performance. If you use a SLI setup you can set a checkbox at the request page, this will make sure you receive the same model back to make sure you can still run your SLI setup.

Many thanks dominik - in the end I chose the standard RMA process as the advanced one seemed to suggest that you had to buy this service within a certain date (I did not do this when registering the product). The warranty section seeemed to prefer that I send the product back using UPS but I was hoping that the Royal Mail, with their tracking service would be sufficient? (Reason stated on the website was that damaged boxes will be returned to the sender).

Hoping for a smooth transaction and that I have my replacement soon.
