Hi

I just update Gibbo with a new ETA of 06/03/2014 for the next stocks of the EVGA GTX780Ti Classified for OCUK.

Hopefully he will now re-add the product to the website with the updated ETA, this is a confirmed ETA and not a situation like KingPin.

EVGA 780Ti Backplate came today, its so thin and cheap compared to all my previous cards I had preinstalled or bought one for.

Is it even Alu, hard to tell if it is or plastic but going by the cheap clear plastic strips to stop it either marking or shorting PCB it may be Alu.

Yes its Alu all it does is make the card look better btw nothing else don't take the plastic off the pcb side its there to stop shorts.
 
The older ones dropped temps a bit and stiffened up the cards (not that a Titan type cooler needs that).

Just on opening it I thought to myself this is poor.

Any Pictures? as ive had the 770 classified backplate and 780 and they looked good and well made
 
Not fitted but its on the EVGA website.

Also camera is at mothers home.

I can tell my 680 FTW 4GB is metal looking and feeling it and its thicker and I think those card have the extra VRam on rear of PCB.
 
Well, actually this is the first time I hear a complain like this about the backplate.
Generally the material should be strong and good quality.
If you are not satisfied with the backplate you can send it back for refund within the first 30 days of purchase.
 
To get what instead?

I assumed they are all like this and looks like it from fitting videos on YT.

Some peeps will not mention or know better but I have had many cards with backplates.

I am not going to loose any sleep over it or throw it against the wall but I cannot lie, on opening it I was disappointed with quality.

How about you measure ones thickness Dom and I get back to you.

Been very happy with all my backplates ive had from EVGA so far.
 
About the Kingpin stock in Europe.

EVGAdominik can I get a reply please as ive been a customer with EVGA scince 2008 and always had great customer support from yourself`s.

I did start a thread in your forum about it but all I got was hard luck move to the states and so on from the people from the US, kind of sad as this was the first time ive come across this type of attidutde with myself on your forums.

I have emailed your sales and support about no stock on the EU web site and was told that you may never get any back in again so if this is the case why have it listed at all and last nite it looks like the US store has hand another lot of cards 4 to 1 is not worldwide sales.

My experience with EVGA support > my 670 purchased from OC in 2012 packed in 10 days ago. Emailed Evga and received a prompt reply with details for the RMA process. This morning my replacement arrived, a brand new 680 !

Needless to say, I am very happy :)

Hi, like I have stated before. The KP card is a special edition and also the availability of it is special but we are working on this.
The latest update from this morning is that we will receive stocks in April, the actually schedule is beginning of but this can also still move back like 1-2-3 weeks but we will defently get them in April again. I will of course keep you up to date on this as soon as I get further confirmed information. So far I do also not have the information if any etailer will get them or if we will have it only at our store....

Yes I know its a special edition card but the US is getting all the stock of them,they have now sold out in the US evga web site and I`ll bet anything they will be back in stock again soon,and the only place for us to buy one if we where mad is on ebay as there is a US seller that has 4 of them for sale at a silly price.
 
just because they put it more often online do not mean their total qty is bigger then the one we had.
anyway I got good confirmed news, the KP card will get available in EU in April, so far the exact date is not confirmed. I think it is going to be middle-end of April.
 
Hey Dom,
Ive got a faulty evga 480gtx here (code 47 - cannot start device) in my system. Havent got around to removing it and testing it another system etc yet as im damn lazy and can just turn off the PCI-E port on my mobo.

If I sent it in for RMA, what card am I likely to get back? It obviously wont be another 480, which means I can't put it back in my TRI-SLI, but I could probably use it in my front room PC (currently has a 470 in it).

Just curious what sort of thing to expect to know if its worth the effort :)
