**GOT AN EVGA GRAPHICS RELATED QUESTION OR NEED SUPPORT - ASK HERE!!**

Hi,

you can ask here question about all of our products :) not only GPUs....
We are not ready for launch, the Classy board will get available in the UK at the beginning of next month.

Thanks Dom :)

I had noticed you could preorder on the us store and not the EU store so wasn't sure. Not long to wait then, looks like the m7e is going to have some seriously strong competition!

Hello sh33pst3r,

sorry I did miss the originally request.
What you can try in this case is to run the fan for half an hour on 100% and have a look if the problem will dissapear. If it will not help we can offer to replace the cooler.
If this is required it would be best if we can go over this by phone. You can call us at 0049 89 189 049 11 or you can send me your number to [email protected] then I will give you a call back, please put then a copy of this post to the mail.

Hi Dominik,

I have tried your recommendation to no avail this evening. I have sent an e-mail to the address you specified and hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks for the advice and advance support.

My EVGA GTX670 is on firmware 80.04.31.00.70 (P2004-0005)

I am trying to update to the latest version here but the FTP links are dead

http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1703680

This one specifically - ftp://ftp.evga.com/BIOS/2670_80.04.5C.zip

Please can they be fixed :)

Also, is it possible to update my standard edition 670 with a FTW edition firmware or is this not wise?

Hi, I would not suggest to update the firware of the graphics card as long as everything is working correctly, normally this is not needed. The links that do not work had been compatibility BIOS for issues during boot on certain motherboards. Do you have any problems with the card or its performance.
Our 670 FTW model is based on the 680 PCB which is completly different to the normal 670s. For more speed you can manually overclock the card with the precision tool and save this as a windows start up profile if you want to.

Thanks Dom :)

Yes, at the moment we do not have an exact shipping date so we did decide to not presell it but we will kick out a newsletter as soon as we have this information, will probably happen later this month. In your EVGA at MEMBER HOME - MY PROFILE you can set the checkbox for the newletter if you have not received it already.

Afternoon Dominik.

I have a Hydro Copper Waterblock for my GTX780 Classifieds and noticed whilst removing one of the fittings it's also removed the threads of the block with it. I find this odd as they weren't in that tight.

Where do I stand with this?

Hi Geeman, I am sorry to hear this! Just drop an email to [email protected] and attach a picture if possible. If the card is not registered so far please do this before you send the email then we will organise you a new "connector block". Changing the front block is not that difficult, you just need to remove the two screws at the front then you can remove the cover and open the two torq screws inside. When you reinstall the new block you just need to take care that the fiction is sitting properly in the rail.

Let me know if there is any issue with this support request!

Thanks for the quick reply.

No issues but I cannot increase fan speed higher than 80% and it runs pretty hot with recent games. 80% fan speed, upto 90c!

Someone in another thread suggested a bios update but I guess this would void warranty?

Why is the fan speed locked to only 80%? (at least in Afterburner software)

Hello Dominik.

I was so unfortuain to have to RMA my GTX780, as it had periodic failures, where the card would not be reconized at boot. I contacted EVGA EU(Munich), and they set up an RMA for me.

8 days later I recieved a package from EVGA, with a "new" card. Upon further inspection, this card was obviously a refurbished, repaired card. Many of the screws on the PCB were unoriginal, the card had a distinct smell of nikotin, and the PCB had a small layer of nikotin aswell - which had obviously been tried to wipe clean.

I could in theory live with all this - sadly, this card also suffered from failures, and after 3 minutes of Valley Benchmark, the PC would either freeze, requiring a hard reset - or cause a driver failure.

Now i contacted EVGA again to set up a new RMA, and asked them why I recieved a refurbished card - and not a brand new one. I was then told, that if the original card was more than 30 days old, EVGA would send out refurbished units.

Now I do not understand why EVGA encourage their customers to RMA directly to them, as I am now standing in a FAR WORSE situation than doing the RMA to the retailer.

Had I made the RMA trough the retailer, I had either gotten a full refund or a brand new card. This is apparently NOT the case with a direct RMA at EVGA, and it leaves me stunned.

So to conclude, it seems to me that EVGA want their customers to RMA directly to them, to save money. Had I sent my card to the retailer, and they found it faulty, EVGA would have to refund the retailer or give them a brand new card. But doing it this way, you only have to give out repaired units.

All i can say is, if this is truely EVGA policy, i have oficially bought my very last EVGA item - ever.

Dominik - I am looking to SLI and currently have a reference EVGA 670. Is it possible to mix other EVGA 670s such as 670 Superclocked, 670 FTW and 670 FTW Signature 2 models?

I read on this EVGA forum that the FTW models are actually on 680 PCBs so do not SLI well with reference models

The 670 FTW is actually on the 680 pcb, same fan, same heatsink, 8 phase VRM, the 670 FTW is more 680 than 670. This is the only guy who got a different version 670 to work with a 670 FTW, and it wasn't plug and play- http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1989535. I've personally seen about 5 other people try it, and they never got it to work.

I am having difficulty finding a reference card 2nd hand and have my eye on 2 FTW model cards. I dont want to buy one then find it doesn't work

The fanspeed is not locked by us, the reason for this is that the cooler is getting very loud and the lifespan of it shrink a lot if you run it on 100%.
What I would suggest in this case is to change the TIM on the GPU to a high quality one, this will help a lot to get temps down. This will also not void the warranty!!
You can SLI the card with any 670 GPU that do have the same ammount of RAM.
You always have best performance if the cards do run the same clock. In this case I would suggest to overclock the ref version and then match the clock of the FTW to this.

Hi, I am sorry to hear there are issues with the replacement you have received. It is possible that you receive a refurbished unit back but this should be in good conditions and of course also fully working. Did you already get back to the RMA Team with this information to organize a UPS Pick Up to get this unit exchanged?
Dealer RMAs do not work like you mentioned and rules like this that are from shops to enduser do not count the same way from manifacturer to dealer so no, we do not save any money on this end. Also UPS shipments from Munich to UK can cost up to 50EUR. We really don't save any money on this, we just want to deliver direct service. At eu.evga.com/warranty you can review our therm where it do state the replacement thing.
Our service is also important for lots of other countrys that are not covered by nice laws like in middle europe. If local laws guarantee you a better/new replacement then our therms feel free to handle RMA with the store.

Please let me know if there is any further issue with replacing the faulty unit you have received!!

Super, cheers :)

I actually just hoovered out my machine and temps decreased by 25c! so graphics card maxes out at 66c now

Yes, i already wrote back and asked for a new RMA - which has been approved today. I also confirmed my address, to have UPS pick it up, but still awaiting answer on this.

I do not know what the law is on this in the UK, but in Denmark - where i live - i am entitled to a full refund or a brand new item. Clearly, i didn't know you sent out replacement units - otherwise i would never had sent it your way.

I even contacted the retailer, which was stunned by this, and said regardless of any sticker, i should always contact them. They also suggested asking for my old card back, so they could handle it for me - but i'm unsure as to wether the outcome would be on that.

So all in all, i find myself in a worse situation doing the RMA directly with EVGA, than the retailer, and that is on my part, dissapointing.

But what is done, is done. So i hope UPS will pick it up tomorrow or wednesday, then hopefully i will get a working card back.

Your contract under EU law is with the retailer, just go back to them in the first year.

I must say that having owned many dozens of graphics cards over the years having 2 that cause your pc to have the same problems makes me raise an eyebrow. Every manufacturer will send a refurb if they have stock of them available and there's no law to say that they can't.

As I said, had i known they sent out refurbished units, i had RMA'd to the retailer.

That said, it is not 2 cards causing the same problem. The first, the original card, had trouble being recognized at boot. If the PC was on and shut down, the VGA_LED would light till i pulled the power plug for 5 minutes and booted again. The replacement i got, crashed after 3 minutes of Valley Benchmark, either a driver crash or a freeze.

Hello Dominik.
I have 5 days to purchase the extended warranty. If I purchase this and IF you release the 780 Ti 6GB within 90 days will I be able to step–up?

I did the 14 day reg thingy. Just looking at options now.

BTW I paid £420 when doing the step-up I put in €514.96 Is this correct?

Cheers fella

@ Pelinox
Please let me know if there is any further issue with the follow up RMA or with the unit you receive. Generally issues like this could also be power related but lets have a look first if the next replacement will work.

@bigmac
Yes, if you have registered the card within 14 days you have 90 days for step up available and if the 6GB Ti Version will show up till then we will also offer it for step up.
About the price, the RMA Team do always look for the exchange rate of the date you have purchased the originally (ECB exchange rate)
No worry, the Step Up Team need to review your request and they will change things if they need to get changed

Hi Dominik,

I'm yet to receive any call or update from EVGA customer services since e-mailing this time last week.

Any update available?

Thank you

Sure thing. I do not belive it's a general problem, though. My computer has been running with a 280x without problems since the original card died.

But will look forward to recieve the card, cannot belive how ASUS managed to get this Matrix edition of the 280x to be this loud, yet perform so mediocre.
