yeah you bought a blu ray player to do that. like he bought a tv.
the difference is you aren't going to ask on here what blu rays you should be buying. because you should be buying what you want to buy.
i think you have missed the whole point.
No I haven't missed the point lol, the guy has a LG C8 which I am also going to get, pairing it up with a top of the range oppo might interest him for a really good experience in 4k HDR content, might aswell get as much quality out of the panel as possible yes planet earth blue planet will look good on Xbox but will also be even better on a top player, you never know he might take that on board to enjoy his new toy![]()
Aren't blu rays digital? Hdmi is digital. So I don't understand why it would be better. Unless blu ray is analogue

There is a vast difference in picture quality with this player, look at the comparison on tube.
+agreeVast might be overselling a little
the xbox one s blue-ray has non-defeatable noise reduction, so the picture is not the same,
Vincent's and other sites (french hifi revews I had ref'd) also find chroma upscale on ub900/700 4k is better than the oppo's
I'd go , middle ground, for the the ub700 £200-£250, same chassis/components as ub900 minus the dacs, ub400 does not have the same processor afaik
Vast might be overselling a littleI suspect in a blind test you wouldn't notice the difference. It's the features and standards a player supports that sets it aside from the next. For the most part. Dolby Digital etc.

The information on the disk is digital. But that information has to be decoded. Different TV's and Blu Ray players have different processors that produce better video quality than others.
