Someone reasonably about a title with such various features and gigantic extents to inform, without telling thereby too much, falls heavily. Where is one to begin, which details mentions one, and which one omits? The terrible word „spoilers “hangs the whole time threateningly over one. Thus if still individual questions should be open, then we answer gladly in our forum.

seems to suffer from horrible fps even on high end rigs and it's pretty bugged

Your right it is buggy as hell my friend has just gotten the game from the local free record shop near Niebert no collectors edition but they had the normal one. Everything started allright installation also went fine we went into the menu and clicked new game and I must say we thought it was stuck it loaded that long (7 mins) after that we started playing (wont post spoilers dont worry) and the gothic feeling showed up apparantly (havent played previous gothic games friend has) but the huge amount of gfx,quest,speech,items,monster bugs is far too much to be even called acceptable.

Bah..I can live with bugs - daggerfall was arguably one of the best ever rpgs and that had so many bugs.
To be honest, most of those reviewers that've already got the game kind of seem like the types to not really enjoy the gothic series anyhow.

Hmm...neither of the first two games were in any way buggy at all. And yes, that guy does sound like a complete moron. Might wait for a few of you guys to buy it first though, just to be sure

The German press has been very praising of it. Including two gamesites so far... 9/10 (Eurogamer.de), 9.3/10 (extreme-players.de)
English reviews are more pertinent to us of course but it will be the same game except for vioce acting and text. But it doesn't matter to me now, its ordered and the postie should be here in a couple of hours....I'll find out for myself whether its good or bad

Got it about an hour ago ....first off, it runs a lot better than I was expecting with most graphics options on medium-high. Running it at 1680x1050. Fps is around 30-40 outside towns and about 20-25 in towns with a fair few npcs on screen etc. So not bad at all in that respect! Been fiddling with options mostly rather than playing at this point. There is a bit of stutter when entering a town settlement sometimes, and also in the wilderness but overall it seems quite smooth
From what little I have played tho, its not too bad at all. As with the Gothic games it will probably be a bit daunting/confuse newbies to the series a bit at the start but it seems quite a deep game. All sorts you can do, smithing etc and I like how you can walk up to a whetstone or anvil and do your stuff. Combat seems simplistic at first but is quite effective and inuitive. There are a fair few combos, all done with the mouse buttons. It seems fine to me. The camera is a bit weird until you fiddle the settings...will post up a more informative first impressions later when I've played it more. Have to go out shortly unfortunately

Sounds like the start of Gothic 2, which is fine by me
Combat was a bit simplistic at the start of that too, but only because swinging your sword blindly was all you were trained to do. I think a lot of people never got that it was because you were untrained, and just thought it was a bit rubbish.
Seem to remember the camera was a bit odd previously too, especially in Gothic 1. Didn't stop me wasting weeks of my life on it
