GPU Hardware Survey - What Are You Running and Why?

3840*2160
3 x GTX 980
Because I wanted to try UHD

3840*2160
2 x 290P
Because I have a UHD monitor (so why not run 3840*2160) and can't be bothered to fit my 3 x 290Xs

1920*1080
1 x 7950
Because the monitor won't do 4K via HDMI/DVI and I've not fitted the 3 x 290Xs freeing up a 290P.

Resolution: 1080p
GPU: GTX780
Because: Life can put expensive hobbys on the back burner. I normally upgrade to the latest flagship every second gen. However I'm slowing down lately due to having a young family and very little time for gaming. I've quite a large back catalogue of games to get through, so my need for the latest GPUs is not particularly immediate. Age teaches you patience, and all that. I have a nice war chest stashed away for the next upgrade, which will happen some time over the next 2 years.

I'm also a little sceptical of GPU prices offered over the last couple of years. I haven't seen anything compelling from a price performance point of view since the GTX970.

Having started gaming at 320p back in the day, and slowly worked my way up over the years, I'm in no rush to move off 1080p yet. I will someday, most likely to 4k, but I'm not convinced even the latest GPUs are up to it just yet.

Resolution : 1080p 144hz
GPU/GPUs : GTX 980
Because : 1080p suits me fine, 980 lets me run most games at 144hz
Extras: Will be going to 1440p once i SLI

Resolution: 3840x2160

GPU's: Radeon 295x2

Because: Got it for one third of the price of a Titan X and wanted to give CrossFire a go. Only card I could have got for that price to play 4K as well as I do now. To play it better would need to spend over a grand for two 980ti's (No thanks). lol.

Extras: Really want a singe GPU 16nm card, was not going to spend a lot on another 28nm.

Resolution : 3440x1440 dell U
GPU/GPUs :HOF 980 but got 980Ti G1 coming tommorrow
Because : i want smooth gameplay
Extras: games BF4 crysis3 Planetside 2 star citizen

resolution : 4K
GPU's : R9 290X 8GB X2 crossfire

Reason: 4k needs more than 4gb VRAM & more power than 1 card

Games: GTA V, World of warships, Elite dangerous

Resolution : 1080p
GPU/GPUs : PCS+ R9 290
Because : At the time best price for gaming grunt there is bar none. Can max every game at 1080p (well mostly..see below)
Extras: DK2 bolted to my face...improves it no end :D Though gonna need a bigger beast of a card to do VR properly :(

5532 x 1080 (Eyefinity)

R9 290

I like Eyefinity and got the 290 cheap and reconditioned from OCUK - it can tun most games I throw at it over my 3-monitor setup.

Resolution : 1920 x 1080
GPU : R9 290X

Reason's - The 290X offered great price for performance whilst being more than adequate for this resolution.

Until funds apply to change my monitor to something 1440p with G Sync the 290X will be staying :D

2560x1440
290x Crossfire
The price, i simply couldnt afford 4k with acceptable FPS/graphics settings, but 1440p i could manage.

1920x1080

Zotac 780Ti OC

Was happy with my 670 at this rez but when the chance to buy a 780Ti (faster than a 970) from MM popped up, I couldn't resist.

Great card.

1920x1080
980ti SLI
needed an upgrade from my 7970's they lasted me 3 years and were overkill at the time. hoping the same with the 980's deciding to get a new monitor now!
