Where have you seen these at?

i can’t say but will post the price history later. It’s been a fairly busy 48 hours by the looks of it, loads of AMD card sales.

I feel positive about the situation for the first time in over a year lol

It could be massive container finally managed to make it out of the APAC region, with thousands of AMD reference cards.

I just checked 6900XT reference and those are being dumped for on the market for £850-900 shrinkwrapped.

if you want a card, get looking and yeah, this is now the start of the panic sell, if this keeps going for more than a few more days.

Why are you winding people up?

I see no such prices as he said anywhere for the last 48 hours. So not sure where he's talking about, but selling out off a white van doesn't count in my book.

Yeah I can't find any publicly available cards with the prices he's mentioned so clearly it's tosh. Nothing on various Discords either.

I can appreciate the positivity of people saying things like "panic selling" and hoping it will happen. I don't think it works the same as shilling crypto though.

I think some are trying to create a fake panic that's all.. These forums have ended up an all time low.

So many pulling rubbish out of thin air recently and when you ask them to prove it they pretend its real with no proof or proof that is not proof but they didn't read the article right. I think people have just gone GPU mad. Then you have some saying they wouldn't buy a 6800xt until it's £470.. I really wonder what planet they live on.

I want a reference 6800XT for about £ 470 this may mean I miss out this generation and will have to wait a few years but there’s not a cats chance in hell I’m paying over the odds.

calling out an OG on the forum? tsk tsk :)

i will be back after my tea and the kids have gone to bed :)

The guy above you keeps telling people should buy GPU from shops for warranty, when people can find a much better deal from scalpers on the market, I just felt uncomfortable to buy from authorized resellers that scalp more than scalpers.

F warranty, I will use the price difference to repair it when **** happens.

^ This. I started to write a script in python to scrape the average price of cards on the bay. From early glances it doesnt really seem that anything indicates a 'flood' or 'panic' I think its partially hopium and partially haters (like sarge regarding miners) drumming the beat as they have nothing to fill the time with.

Mate, nail on head here. Many a forum foaming mouther lately with nothing but an axe to grind as they either cant source a card or aren't willing to buy one (at these prices). So basically a double team of complainers with little else to do with their time but to spread negativity...

I agree it's just become hateful chat and people wanting GPUS that were never aimed at them at the price range they even came out at MSRP but complaining all the time and fake chat about panic selling and depreciation on the current cards and on and on and on with negative rubbish. If you wouldn't buy said GPU at the MSRP why would you suddenly think you can buy what you want for less than the market rate now? If you can't afford a card at said price or said gpu is over specified for your system then aim for a card that is in your realistic price range and performance range you need, no one needs the latest and greatest every year or a card that costs over a £1k for gaming right now especially if you are running a 1080p 60hz monitor or don't have a system able to make good use of it.

Also read Sarges posts from day one, that will make you laugh he states he has a 3080 (no proof ever, even when asked), then he states he purchased a 6800 card and then he states he purchased another 6800 card from ocuk and sent it back because it didn't work, so he has 2 cards now ( so he says no proof of either) and one sent back... Then all the made up facts and fake helping with bad advice, the only thing he's doing on these forums is trolling and trying to up his post count to get to the voucher deals and the MM. I am actually shocked he's not been banned especially after the last few days of his rubbish and the removal of many of his posts and threads now. People like him need banning they are distroying the forums and many new members have joined just to fight and annoy the regular members and especially the ones with the hardware they keep dreaming about for a 3rd of the msrp price they want to pay.

Some of these people are either kids or adults that clearly don't live in the real world and know what is actually going on in it. It's shocking now some of the stuff they come out with. Also the hate towards gamers using their cards when idle to mine on is none of their business, I don't mine and don't care, but care about the miners buying 10 or more cards just to mine on and the mining industry buying them by the pallet and the scalpers buying them to scalp.

Then the more recent hate towards people needing more than one gpu for work, or family or they have more than one system, seriously again none of anyones business and their money and they can do what they like, but they then complain I can't even get one card, but same time they say they are not willing to pay the market rate or msrp... So basically complaining and being hateful to anyone trying to buy what they can to use their systems.

Right now every card is available to buy, all new gen but you have to pay the market price, if you can't look down the range till one hits the price range you can pay without complaining you can't get a card, that's a lie cards have been available for a long time now, yes prices are daft sometimes but the rest of us had to pay them if we wanted said gpu and got on with it. Honestly I have never seen the forums so bad and so many arrogant and entitled people that think the world revolves around them and they should get what they want at what they want to pay (rest of us had to pay the market rate too). Welcome to the adult world finally and realising the world doesn't revolve around your wants and dreams. Sorry but that's the reality of what is going on now.

Have to agree with multiple points you made, especially the hate towards people that mine on their gaming cards. The lack of binary logic when they complain about 'miners' is astounding as they think a miner has to be an operation with thousands of GPU's in a warehouse - where in reality a kid in a bedroom running a batch file is also a miner (that frequents these forums).

The also terribad understanding that Bitcoin cannot be mined by GPU's is apparent, and that people mining in large volume will actually be using ASICs due to them being designed for it specifically and be far more efficient!

Its not really the mods fault as there are too many posts to monitor to be realistic, but trollers like you mentioned that aren't heavily castrated (just stop them from posting in the GPU forum - leave the others open to see if they troll there is underused) is head shaking at best.

Perfect example here of said new member that is here to talk rubbish and is spending all his time on here trying to get people to go buy cards with no warranty elsewhere, even after a user that purchased a 3090 came and said don't do it because he ended up with a broken card and had to get it repaired elsewhere because GigaByte refused it, costing him much more than buying one new from a retailer in the end.

HarryChan sorry but you wanted a reply as you clearly have a bone to pick with me since the last thread and sorry you are being childish now and don't waste your time with me, I think last thread should have woken you up to who you are talking to, someone aware of people like you. If you want to buy a card in that way without warranty then stop wasting your time on a retailers forum, reminder this forum belongs to a retailer while you keep trying to drag people off to buy cards elsewhere.

Honestly for home gamers mining , i'm happy they made back some of the money for their gpus as we know they are really expensive this time, so it has actually worked out for some really well and happy to see they made some of their money back for their pc hobby. the large scale mining is a different matter and thats just pure business. But the hate is aimed at the wrong people and should be aimed at these large scale mining firms and the scalpers.

Dont waste your time @Purgatory as mods can easily rope you into the banning activity with the trollers, I think anyone worth their salt will identify the fresh faced baiters and ignore their 'advice' or spin. Just put him on ignore save you some stress.

Off to do some more panic selling analysis! :)

About 50%, the other 50% should be aimed at scalpers IMO. Did you edit in scalpers? lol ninja fast but exactly my sentiment too!
