Oh look, a miner trotting out the "You're all just jealous" line. How... novel. You realise that Gibbo was the instagater of that discussion, right?
A R35 GT-R brand new used to be £55k in 2013, now they are £89k - what's the difference?
If you don't want to buy a GPU at what you consider excessive then just don't buy. But to lay blame at people who are willing to pay is not the fault of the person who is buying. It seems that most of the "gamers" who hate on the situation are the people who actually are just annoyed they missed out on being involved early on before the spike in initial outlay.
OcUK have GTX1080ti in stock at £679.99 which is there abouts the RRP, so nobody can come in and bitch and moan anyway, I just don't get it.

You simply can't deny (with any credibility) that mining isn't responsible for the surges in demand, causing demand far and away exceed supply.
It never happened before mining*. We know that miners are placing orders of hundreds and even thousands of cards. Because Gibbo tells us they do, and that he is fulfilling those orders
Lol, trying to deny these price hikes are the miner's doing is frankly absurd.*This late in a release cycle. Yes, some cards had paper launches with limited availability. But we're two years + from launch here. Demand should normally be quite low by now.
e: Also mid-range GPUs are a commodity item. Unlike supercars. It's not just the 1080Tis that are inflated. As I said in my example of the 480/580, which quickly inflated by over £200 to a quite frankly ridiculous price (to non-miners).
