Gran Turismo 7

Don't get your knickers in a twist. I love the franchise.... Enough to spend over £350 on a wheel to play it.

I want it to be the best it can be. So don't hate on me for acknowledging it's flaws

I hate on you and your rig lol jk.

Sounds and gfx upgrade for gt7 is expected from what I've read so far. Yes there's probably too many mx5s in the list but 90s is my fave car period so I like to see all those jdm skylines or rx7s we would never otherwise have known about. I just think they cool. Like NSX zero '99 cool.

Ive given up on PD, Sony need to give GT to another studio - PD fell for their own hype years ago...

Man the mismanagement of this IP is incredulous...

I too fell into the doldrums I admit but it really looks to me like they are now paying attention and trying to deliver what we want.

They just gifted us the Senna pack, the a1 ring, loads of cars free. Fixed the camber, added fastest lap to online etc.

Ive put my points elsewhere, but my issue with Standard cars is basically that PD released GT5 in what 2010 after how many years in development. They decided that as part of that development that the Premium cars would be of a quality that would be fine for multiple GTs and need 'minimal' effort when platforms changed. Thats admirable to be forward-thinking, but most of that would be PDs need to be perfectionists rather than any conscious consideration for the future IMHO.

Now since then GT has had Standard cars which dont have PS3 level work on them and it feels like that PD havent really attempted to improve these apart from their exteriors in some cases but no one would say they are of the quality of Premium cars (as in in-car views and visual/sound modelling - not about car physics). Thats already obvious in GT5 and GT6 so its scary to consider how distinct they will look in GT7 on the PS4.

What Im vexed about is that PD have had 4+ years (since GT5s development) to organise what they needed to do with Standard cars going forward and I cant contemplate that not meaning upgrading to Premiums where possible (a rare some just dont exist now). Their existence is a juxtaposition to PDs apparent need for perfection. No GT fan is happy about this (its more that Standards still exist rather them being discarded) and naivety on the matter on PDs behalf would have been quashed by GT fans reactions when GT5 launched.

Im hard on the GT franchise because I expect better from PD because of their back catalogue and that they have the resources to do so as well as the time between releases that other developers just never get. I didnt expect GT7 to miraculously only have Premiums, but I expected since GT5 launched that theyd do their upmost to improve car model consistency to a level where standards/features were very similar.

And now here we are - I cant see how the blame doesnt fully fall on PD and if they arent capable, lost their way or just arent the perfectionists they kept telling us they are; then GT needs to be given to someone else. Ultimately I want a fun game, with GT5 it felt like you had to pry it like blood from a stone; GT6 is supposedly better but I dont own it - its hard to be hopeful about GT7, especially as we all know it wont meet our expectations of the series.

That's the thing that sticks with me, they make out they are perfectionists, when in honesty looking at the last couple of games, they aren't!

We've been sold a lie.

It's a shame I adored the first two games.

Keep the 447 and work on updating the standard cars for release in packs. Madness releasing a current gen title with sub standard cars for the sake of having 1000 cars. 447 cars is enough for anyone at release. I disliked it in GT5 as it made the game feel un-finished.

Agreed , or have the standard cars as an optional extra if you must have them... 447 cars is plenty, add a few recent models into the game, sorted.

Gt7 as I said needs less content more quality and it could be a good game.

If they didn't use or very sparsely used standard cars as ai opponents, then if you didn't buy them you wouldn't even see them so how could bit hamper the game for you? But removing them would be a big loss for the people who want to use them so it would make sense to leave them in. 90% of them are good enough quality as ai cars anyway but hey. ..

Because when you do buy one you can't help but feel disappointed when you take it for a spin. Honestly it just makes the game feel incomplete, I've a feeling many will agree. Most of them are just different limited editions or even years of the same model anyway.
