Gran Turismo 7

Nice one, accepted. Yeah i've been playing and tuning in every Forza since FM1. I'm looking forward to the new Motorsport whenever it releases, I've got a bit bored with FH5 at the moment. Just bought my first playstation since the PS1 to play GT7 :)

That is pretty much exactly the same as me. FH5 hasn't really captured me and I haven't played a GT game since GT1 first came out. I got the PlayStation purely for this game.

the "circuit experience" on the Croatian Dragon Tail is really annoying me now,

I managed to get all golds in the separate sections, with the 1st section taking 10 times longer to do than then rest put together - but can only get within 2 tenths of gold on the full lap ......even after what feels like about 500 attempts and 3 or 4 sittings)

I'm like a second off Gold at the minute but I know I can do it, just wanted to blast the Menus out as quick as possible. Try turning the T/C down and that the cars are grippier than they might seem so you can hold a fairly decent line at speed on that first corner. Make sure to abuse the curbs too, some of the corners you can cut quite a bit off without getting the "fail message".

Found out this afternoon I already have the ultra high rpm turbo for the amemiya rx7. Doesn’t seem to do much over the high rpm turbo tbh.. not that I can see anyway. Did some tests this morning.

edit. Anyone struggling with a nice car for the 700pp races, check out the racing Sylvia. Incredible car - purchased it in gold ! :D

(whats even more annoying is that I must have got gold on this in two or three cars before this challenge /task even appeared grrrrr)

Studying the demo lap is probably the best as it’s a good lap and is the lines you want to be taking including which kerbs you can cut.

If you’re still struggling, If you can post a video of your lap I’m happy to take a look to give some pointers.

Decided to try some of the circuit experiences, Tsukuba wasn't too bad, Suzuka I'm stuck on silver in the first sector, gold in the rest but not done the full lap until I get all gold sectors, and then finally just done the High Speed Ring, that was tricky for such a simple track :p

Also finally won something other than the lowest monetary prize on a roulette... Fully Customisable Suspension for the Dodge Hellcat SRT Safety Car... That's useful...

Really enjoying this game as an original GT veteran. Loving the mix of new and old. Tuning shop and second hand cars are back! GTO Twin Turbo - oh yes! :)

However some 'light chuckle' things I noticed:

Drove the Toyota Aqua (it only has one noise and is set to 'lawnmower') thinking it was a hybrid with the battery providing power (KERS) as the power would cut out - realising I had braking assistance on...doh! Only drive with traction control on now...idiot.

German flag next to the classic 1960s Mini - I know BMW purchased the Mini name / brand but the 1960s version is a British classic....:p

One of the licence tests says 'look for a landmark as a breaking reference' - most of that track is just trees! I don't see Tower Bridge or Edinburgh Castle :D

A8 License test for gold seems impossible - its a known issue as the car doesn't have dirt tyres fitted?

Had the game crash twice with errors and then multiplayer was just slow and that crashed as well

I like his game, want to like it more, but the need to rely on TC for most rwd road cars (and some AWD) seems a bit OTT.
Just bought myself the Lambo Hurracane as I didn't have a GR4 car, but although it drives fine there does not seem to be a lot of feel for the cars in this game to me.
Then I had to power restrict it and add some weight to run the Brands GT4 race, odd !

Anyonw want to do some online tonight, if enough interest I am thinking of setting up a few races using the PP/ tyre restrictions for the daily forest track, but removing the stupid GT vision cars if possible.

Ok. Got 1mil sat in my account and want to buy one of the race cars. I’m torn between the old school formula one car, and the Mazda LM55. Or is there something else I should look at ?

Use my Mazda RX8 all the way up to 800PP.

I started having a dabble with tuning today, it seems pretty similar to Forza, just with a few more settings.

My 560pp '69 Camaro is starting to drive well. The aim is to be able to turn TCS off for all cars. (Using TCS 1 currently)

I've been really struggling with some dirt licences and missions and I've read some of the thread and see that the tyres are not working properly. It was very frustrating watching the demonstration videos and thinking how much more grip the demo car has compared to me.

I'm struggling to get bronze on Audi Quattro American Wilderness mission. I just need to get my car past this fat arse pick up truck but it's like driving on ice and the pickup has no qualms with just trundling straight into me :( !

OMG I am having the same issue as you. I can't get past the S5 license...Of all the cars I can't cope with it's the Yaris.....GR version my arse. I might as well sit on top of a shopping trolley blindfolded. GRRRRRR

TBH You might as well wait until they patch the tyre bug as they're almost impossible with the wrong tyres. It's flagged a known issue on their tracker so presumably (hopefully) it will be fixed in the next patch. If you want to know all the affected events, on the main screen (the one with world map / music rally choice) you can select the known issues icon at the bottom which lists them all.

Anyway, I finished the cafe book today and all the challenges with the exception of the wet Spa race in the F1500 which has bugged tyres and the 24 minutes of Le Mans as I can't afford a Gr1 car. Finishing the last cafe book though paid quite nicely so I'm now broke as I bought a Ferrari F40 :D Totally pointless as I know I'll almost always be racing Gr class cars but it's an F40 so I couldn't resist.

On to completing all the circuit experiences now.

I wish there was a 0.25 or 0.5 setting for TC, 1 seems very quick to limit your power!

Or the cars not as slippery, If real rwd cars were this bad they would be a lot of cars in ditches. to me this and the controller FF is what lets the game down, well that and stingy rewards geared to sell expensive micro transactions.
Still there is a lot to like about the game, but I feel the core grip levels are unlikely to be patched as the devs obviously think it is fine.

The game has been slippery that I can remember since GT5.

Not to be a miserable monkfish (I am enjoying the game) but I think in a year or so, without the hype in place, some reviewers might rethink the 9s and 10s awarded to the game. The car selection isn't great, the physics are not great, the menus are all a bloated mess of long flashy animations and pressing X to skip stuff, the racing isn't great, the mtx are not great...

Kind of like GTA IV and, well, GT 5. (Although I actually think that now, 15 years later **** me, GTA IV has aged very well and is its own unique GTA game really)
