*** Grand Theft Auto IV - In-Game Chat [Spoilers] ***

Another repeat of floating car syndrome. Only got pics of this one though, quite a recurring theme in my game.

Guys, I'm STUCK!!!!! :p :confused:

On not just one but two storyline missions.

First one I'm stuck on is called Ruff Rider. The one where you meet a bloke and a woman outside some chinese place, he shoots at you and takes off on a bike and you have to give chase.

It's soooo frustrating!! I have tried taking a fast car to the meeting/trigger point on the street, to use that because I am hopeless trying to stay on the bike, but as soon as the mission begins, any car you have brought with you vanishes and you have to use the bike provided.

Any tips?.

Second one I am stuck on is Snow Storm.

I can manage to get through it ok and pick up the coke, its escaping the building once the cops arrive that I am having problems with. Read a few things about jumping out the back way rather than going out the front, there is supposed to be a boat somewhere nearby but I cant find it.

Again, tips appreciated.

For Ruff Riders; look to the right and there is a motorbike there waiting for you :D then just follow him, don't bother trying to shoot, to a park and then take him and his buddies out.
(sorry didn't read your post correctly, you have to use the bike, just stick with it)

Snow Storm, there is no back way out, you have to go out the way you came in; to get to the boat, run out the door straight ahead, there is a break in the fence slightly to the right, go through that and jump down into the water and in to the boat :D

There is actually a back way out.

You can climb up on the sort of big cotton reel thingy near the room you come in and drop down into, then up onto the rafters and out that way, but its tricky as you have to take it very slowly.

Hhhhm I didn't know that, but I hang off the rafters before but couldn't get up and out :confused:
Oh another thing with Snow Storm, collecting the drugs triggers the Police (as you probably know) so don't pick them up, until you have gone round collected all the amo/weapons/cash or the health pack ;)
Then i found it easiest to kill the 2/3 police in the corridor and then run to the exit and boat (once in the boat just head right at full pelt and you'll lose your wanted level in a few seconds)

1)Ruff Rider. Use the bike provided, but dont rush. Slow down for intersections and generally take your time. Make quick progress but dont go killing yourself riding like a bat of hell. Thats the mistake i made for the first 4/5 attempts. In the end, i did the mission by driving carefully. Eventually, he ends up riding around normally (presumably to give you a chance to actually do the mission lol !) its at this point you pounce and gun him down

2)
Snow storm. Before you enter the building, go jump off the pier to the side of the hospital. Keep swimming and you'll find a boat. Get in it and bring it to to the edge of the water. When i did the mission, my boat had gone, but there was a really fast speedboat in its place. Not sure if you have to place a boat there to trigger it as others have said it wasnt there for them.

Next tip is to get into the pickup left around the perimter fence, use it to destory all the perimter fencing to aid your escape.

Secondly, regarding getting out of the building. Enter the building slowly, if you pick them off one by one and conserve ammo, you should have shed loads of grenades and health/armour for the escape. Memorise your exit patch and just pick off the guards as you leave. I killed about 2 in the main hallway, then about 3 or 4 in the exit foyer. Once out the door, bolt immedately to the right. With the perimter fencing gone you should be able to bolt straight to the waiting boat and make a quick exit.

Is anyone else a bit miffed by the lack of bikes around the place?

Sometimes I won't see one for ages, but then when you get one you have the typical GTA problem where there are then loads of that vehicle about.

ps. I am using firefox and this spell checker I have on it is a bloody joke. I spelt Vehicle wrong, as Vechile by accident, on the spell checker it gave me the option of 'Love-Child' instead!! WTF?
 
Finally managed to complete "Snow Storm". :D

I think you were right about having to steal a boat somewhere first in order to get the fast speedboat to appear once the cops turn up.

I started the mission, ran along to the back of the hospital and looked out over the bay.

Spotted a fishing type boat, got my sniper rifle out and slotted the guy piloting it. Jumped in the river, swam over to the boat and brought it back to the little pier thingy.

Killed everyone in the hospital, stole the Coke and then just legged it out the front, turning right on the way out, through a gap in the fence and then jumped into the water. The speedboat was there, got in that, sped off away from the cops and about 30 seconds later - Wanted Level dropped to zero.

Met up with the mad Rasta guy and that was it.

Off to try Ruff Rider now. :D
 
I think you should have to buy cars, and bikes in GTAIV, if you get caught stealing one cops come after you but its much harder to get away, and if you get busted, you have to spend "doing time" on the inside....if you die or get hurt, you get hospitalised with police at your bedside, same for all crimes, once your better you have to spend a short while locked up depending on your crime, and you have to try and figure out how to get out of the prison. i.e- by escaping or doing your time.
 
I'm a bit concerned, Playboy asked me ages ago to kill Duane and Duane has called me twice asking me to kill Playboy but I havent been able to choose either yet. Playboy nor Duane are on my map and Roman has just brought the new apartment - I have U.L. Paper, Packie and someone else (he's just called me, can't remember his name) on the map. Any ideas on how I trigger the Playboy or Duane choice?

Also, do you have to date Kate? I'm going for the Liberty City Minute achievment but currently done 50 missions in 17 hours 43, so I'm a bit tight for time & don't wanna waste time with her if I don't have to.
