You gotta be DAMN lucky to pull off some nice shots while driving! Managed to get a biker in the head for a quick mission complete yesterday! Was pure luck tbh. ;)

Mike Richards here from R*. Be alert around 12:00 GMT tomorrow for a patch for both the 360 and ps3 versions of GTA IV - we've been working 'round the clock to fix this issue, and seem to have found the problem. For those of you who care, we render the screen in the backbuffer and then flip it onto the front buffer. During those freezes, the code hits a glitch and stops flipping - the reason some of you manage to only have freezes for a few seconds while the sound still runs.

This isn't an official announcement, so the patch time is subject to change. It shouldn't, but if it does don't shoot me!

And I see you guys went through the trouble to create a special GTA IV section on the forums. Very nice.

P.S - Good luck with those last few missions for those of you who get there soon ;)



I'll believe it when it's officially announced and not before.

The only time i had a framerate issue was when i was running away from the cops and decide to head down this alley way. It was a bit dark and I went full pelt into it (it was basically a T Junction and the alley way was on the crossing point of the T) and I stopped in mid air, then i saw a bunch of deck chairs and tables out...turns out it wasn't an alleyway but a damn cafe !
 
Take a look at the map, it's HUGE ! Takes 5 mins alone to go from Roman's flat to the Stripclub over the bridge and that is flooring it.

I do my best to floor it most places, But you are definately right, I find myself holding my breath when I'm overtaking while oncoming traffic is coming, AND there's a police car near by :p

But i'm getting pretty good with the driving, Breaks are harsh in the game though, I spinout so often! :eek:
 
I'm actually finding the Sixaxis really really good for the driving side of the game. Takes me right back to GTA3! :D

Never thought I would say it, but I'm finding the in car view the best

Its worse when your driving a bike! When you actually get it wrong with a bike its really bad, especially when your near the sea and you hit something go flying over the edge and into the water... :rolleyes: :D

Best way is to go on foot from one point on the map to the other - make them the farthest points possible. Do this on III, VC, SA & IV and then post the times ;)

Yeah, you still get the PCJ600 and the NRG900 as well as choppers and mopeds ;) One thing I have just realised, and now really miss, is that there are no police bikes :( I used to love them in SA, they handled great.
