*** Grand Theft Auto IV - The Official Thread ***

having the same prob as you spoonz, my bros running his on 720p and his looks sharper than my 1080p

Yes I get the same thing, set it to 720P and watch the sharpness jump up. (works on 360 and PS3)

I'm setting my 360 to 720P all the time now, it's even miles sharper on the dashboard, hooray for having a good TV scaler I think. :D

PS3 is still set at 1080P for Blu-Ray and what not, but it automatically launches GTA in 720 unless you force it to upscale.

I love the cover system when it works, too often you get sucked into the wrong cover and everything goes **** up. Then someone flanks you and the auto aim locks onto completely the wrong guy leaving you screwed. In this respect I think Saints row offers much less frustration and possibly more fun with its shooting mechanics despite the lack of a dedicated 'cover' system. In general though the interior gunfights in GTA 4 have been fantastic fun outside it goes a bit wiffy imo.

Add to that the fact that he just wanders around all the time. Trying to control him going between bits of cover where you can't 'set piece' too is a right PITA.

Anyone think the game is stupidly dark at night at times??

PS3 version btw.

That and I seem to be spending about 80% of the game playing in the dark, it's either overcast and grey, night or raining... with maybe one random day of sunshine thrown in.

I'd like to be able to see the world at times ya know?

lol, i stole a tug boat in a multi player game today, what a mistake, it is damn slow! it took a hell of a lot of gunfire from the heli though (i died from being shot before the thing blew up)
