This is not spoiling whatsoever just general information I think you should know.

360 does not even have an OPTIONAL install. I find this really strange why they didn't have one because most 360s with hard drives are 20gb and also the PS3's lowest common denominator is a 20gb hard drive. So it could have been possible to include an optional install with 360.

This surely would give the PS3 an edge on streaming which is crucial to GTA.

No fanboyism intended, I just think it is information people should know.

The first thing it done is on bootup install, not option to. I have my impressions of the game but I'll save them for 00.01 Tuesday.

Thanks for that, that is useful to know

But I think that it might also be because of the slower reading speeds of the PS3s blu-ray drive that its so important that the PS3 does have it and the 360 doesn't really need it

Not to say it wouldn't help though

bootup is the same time everytime, there was no difference. Yup most probably sonys blu-ray. If it is a 5gb install it pretty much is the whole game been dumped onto the hard drive then.

You obviously haven't read anything about GTA IV

This is the first outing on a next gen console, like going from PS to PS2 (Albeit the 2D to 3D leap was rather more significant)

Yup the blu-ray drive is slow. But with a 160gb hdd in my PS3 I would rather GTA do the streaming from my hdd than a quick dvd drive.

I do find it more than slightly irritating that whether you get a copy of GTA4 today is purely down to pot luck

let's argue...

A console is a sum of all it's parts.

All PS3's have hard drives, So if the PS3 bluray speed is not fast enough to stream direct from disk, It caches and installs.

That's not a fault or a problem. if the Bluray speed was faster great. But the console/game works. When all the devices within the console are used in conjuction with one another.

Aye, I think the key is is to find someone who doesnt look like they'll have a clue about when it's released but has some sense as to know what it is

Last night in the few places I tried, I couldnt find a non Polish worker who could understand me, or didn't know what it was

The couple I found who were English were quite young and knew the date it was supposed to be released

Closest I came was a guy who I knew, who knew the release date but said he'd sort me out anyway, but went out back to find they didnt have stock
