*** Grand Theft Auto IV - The Official Thread ***

I was just watching all of the gameplay trailers up on gametrailers. One was of street fighting. My only concern for the game is that the fighting is very visceral. Whereas in GTA 3 the combat was 'pick on anonymous bystander and they fall down and die', GTA 4 the combat seems to be a lot more realistic, thanks to the level of detail and the euphoria engine.

Why is this bad? I can see it being a lot easier for the media to latch on to this. First someone posts on Yout00b a video of picking on a granny, punching her to the ground, shooting her in the crotch and running her over etc, next thing you know the Daily Mail is likening it to happy slapping training, a simulator sending kids out to kill grannies.

Im getting both copies.

Getting the PS3 one at midnight on monday and getting the 360 version through on pre order.

The dude in the shop said that the PS3 verion ran better, loaded faster and looked better. Not sure whether to take this with a pinch of salt or not.

Any performance differences between versions will be extremely small. I'm getting the PS3 version.

I stupidly haven't pre-ordered this, when do you lot think is the earliest I could get a copy? Tursday/Friday? The week after?

I haven't pre-ordered it either, but im fairly confident that there will be some here in Belfast. There always has been for other major releases like Halo 3, Orange Box and COD4. I have never seen a game being completely sold out everywhere over here.

video games causing violence is aload of balogney, Ive been playing games before my teens and Ive never hit someone. Anyone who says they do yould just be shot in the face tbh.

I played risk on my pc and never once have I invaded australasia yet, the whole games/behvaiour thing is just an excuse for the media to stop looking at the reason why these kids are screwed in the first place

looking forward to Tuesday and picking up my copy.

There's a place doing midnight launches. Is it for pre orders only or can I get one? Just I too have not pre ordered and I also don't have the cash. But peer pressure and all that..

A DS3! OMG I didn't even know there was a DS2!

How come you didn't get a 360?
