***Grand Theft Auto VI***

So the person in question they are quoting left rockstar a while ago I don’t think he worked on RDR 2. So his info may be out of date. This could very well be true in his tenure when the PS3 was king of the hill.

I was going to post his video here but I didn’t think it added much to what people already know as I felt his answers were quite generic. However since we are talking about it here is the video in question

I don't need to watch that.

I already know why. It's because someone in the marketing/money department has calculated that they'll likely make more money releasing the PC version later.

There isn't any other believable reason.

It's nothing more than a cash grab they know that people will buy it first on consoles and then the upscaled version on PC, i thought rockstar was passed the times of waiting for the pc version obviously not!

the thing is how dated the PS4 / Xbox One will be once GTA 6 come out, which then makes me think the trailer we saw was pre-rendered on PC, there is no way would a 10 year old console cope with the amount of NPC's in one scene. Which makes it more of an insult of here's a trailer of the PC version which comes later than the crappy console but half of the NPC's you see.

It is not going to be released on PS4/Xbox one. They can hardly run GTAO now.

It's not coming out on PS4 or Xbox One. Only PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The game was in game graphics running on a PS5 and definitely not pre-rendered, in all likely hood.

It isn't coming out on ps4 or Xbox one though.

The console that I think will struggle is the series S.

No doubt it will likely suck (have very low res upscaling and 30fps) on anything but a ps5 pro or high end pc.

Ahh apologies I thought it was PS4 and Xbox One, what do we think the minimum specs will be? surely vram will be an issue so probably minimum being 3080? i can see nvidia showcasing GTA 6 the next series gen getting a free copy with every pre-order that is if there is no chip issue.

It will run on 8GB I reckon purely as even by then 8GB will still be the most common card imo

Disappointing that it’s not launching day and date with console but PC has been an afterthought for Rockstar for some time.

We’ve not even received the same updates GTA V did for console with ray tracing etc.

But there are mods available that add all those features anyway. It looks much better than the console versions too.

I’ve seen the mods and I feel they aren’t as good as the native changes the “next-gen” upgrade had on console.

I’ve also never been a fan of visual mods, aside from ini config files that increase draw distance, lod etc. But I’ve found most of the ray tracing mods, re-shades etc often look worse.

The only recent exception was the control 2019 hdr mod but that was done by an actual remedy developer.

The PC version of GTA V still looks great. I tend to run it with frame scaling increased and the image quality is pin sharp.

But shadows etc aren’t great, and even with everything maxed out there’s still quite a bit of texture pop-in etc. You compare it to Red Dead 2 and its night and day. I appreciate gta V is an old game now but it’s disappointing that pc owners were left in the cold.

Playing at high frame rates is great though.

If a ps5 pro ends up being true I’ll end up buying one with gta 6 to play it on launch and then sell it shortly after lol

Exactly. People are also more likely to then buy it again later on the PC. Plus release a version that looks superior to the others at launch is going to impact console sales.

I bet a lot of people will buy it on console then pc after so its double sale to probably 25% of pc gamers who would buy it on pc
